Pre-race Routines

Thank you for all of your advice from my last post.

I am definitely doing the 10K tomorrow and I am excited! :)

Last night we had our version of Burger and Fries.  Not as gourmet as Andrea’s but I definitely got my idea from her!

Now remember over here at our casa we are still “cleaning out the fridge” so our fixin’s are getting pretty low.

We used these for our burgers:Our fries were cut up sweet potatoes broiled in the oven with olive oil and salt.

I also made a side of brown rice and beans.

It was delicious!

Last time I raced, I did a 45 minute yoga flow class the day before.

I raced really well and PRed!

I am weary of trying something new so this afternoon I will do another 45 minute yoga flow class.

What pre-race routines do you feel work for you?

Are you hesitant to try anything new?

Happy Friday…………

I will be back later tonight (after yoga).

Hopefully I will be able to share what new road bike I am getting :)

Have a great day friends!

Weekly Goals

Gosh the darkness really through me off this morning.  I felt like I could sleep forever!

Has anyone else felt a bit out of whack from this time change?

Last night I was thinking of some goals for the week.

You see this coming Saturday is another 5K I would like to do so I thought I should get prepared correctly.

Here are my Goals:

  • run Tuesday and Thursday
  • practice yoga Wednesday and Friday
  • race on Saturday

Wish me luck ;)

Do you have any weekly goals?

Have a great Monday :)

Rained Out

Today was supposed to be my first workout with Khrystle.

But we got rained out:

I kind of knew this would happen because it started raining at about 10 am this morning and never let up.

This is very abnormal for Southern California…….enough rain already!

So instead of my “torture” session, I came home and did a 20 minute power vinyasa flow class from Yoga Download.

Hello mat:

I love yoga.  Even twenty minutes of it sets me straight.  I feel so connected to my movements when I practice.  It just makes me feel good!

Now I am sitting in front of the fire waiting to open this gem with my husband:

Joanne from Older/Better suggested this so I can’t wait to try it.

Pepsi is waiting on dinner:

She lives to eat.  Hmmmm she is very much like her mother!

What workout makes you feel most connected to yourself?

For me it is yoga, then cycling, and then running……

Yoga Download

Just got an email from Yoga Download (www.yogadownload.com).
