<p>It seems like we just returned home from vacation and were settling back into <a href="http://fitandfortysomething.com/2011/11/26/back-in-balance/">old routines</a>.  Time flies too quickly if you ask me.</p>
<p>During this week, I have taken time to <strong>honor my food cravings.</strong></p>

<p>Lots of healthy vegan stews and kale salads.</p>

<p>Hello amazing espresso&#8230;&#8230;I am in love!</p>
<p>I have also been <strong>honoring my piriformis pain</strong> by scaling back a bit on my running.</p>
<p>Here is what my workout week has looked like:</p>
<ul>
<li>Monday run 3 miles</li>
<li>Tuesday 45 minute hip opener yoga practice</li>
<li>Wednesday run 4.5 miles</li>
<li>Thursday 45 minute hip opener yoga practice</li>
<li>Friday I hope to run 4 to 5 miles and then do a yoga practice with a blogger friend in the evening.</li>
</ul>
<p>Yes friends it is a time to honor for us&#8230;&#8230;..Be good to yourselves and honor what you need right now too.</p>

<p><strong>Any fun plans for the weekend?</strong></p>
<p>We are relaxing, running, and having friends over.  Can&#8217;t wait!</p>

<p>And I have the next two days off (Thursday and Friday) so that is even better&#8230;&#8230;</p>
<p><strong>Speaking of days off</strong>, since I have been working again and not on vacation, I obviously have not been working out as much.</p>
<p><em>What have I been doing you ask</em>?</p>
<p>Well I have been going on <strong>morning walks</strong> with <a href="http://fitandfortysomething.com/family-pictures/pepsi/">Pepsi</a>.</p>

<p>It is the very first thing I do when I wake up.  I just stumble out of bed and put her leash on.  I guess it is my way to wake up and I love that time with her.</p>
<p>I have also been going on<strong> nightly walks</strong> with <a href="http://fitandfortysomething.com/family-pictures/bill-and-i/">Bill</a>.</p>
<p><a href="http://fitandfortysomething.com/2011/07/20/fitting-it-all-in/img_6745-2/" rel="attachment wp-att-4844"><img class="aligncenter size-medium wp-image-4844" title="IMG_6745" src="http://fitandfortysomething.files.wordpress.com/2011/07/img_67451.jpg?w=375&#038;h=500" alt="" width="375" height="500" /></a></p>
<p>We try to pick a strenuous route and usually cover about 2 miles.  It is a great way to end the day and catch up.</p>
<p>I also have been <strong>breaking out my yoga mat</strong>.</p>

<p>But I have not been doing yoga (maybe I should).  I have been doing core work and push ups and yes using that foam roller.</p>
<p>Also, <strong>I have been riding</strong>&#8230;..just not every day.</p>

<p>I usually ride both weekend days and then fit in a ride or two during the week.</p>
<p><strong>Could I be doing more</strong>?  You bet. But I have to honestly say I do not like to put lots of extra pressure on myself when work on its own is stressful enough.  I want my work outs to be invigorating and de-stressing-not he other way around.</p>
<p>What I would like to do is add in some yoga, maybe an occassional run and or boot camp.</p>
<p><strong>Does work make it harder for you to workout as much as you like?</strong></p>
<p>It does for me!</p>
