Turkey Burgers

Last night I created a delicious turkey burger made from organic white meat turkey.

I got really creative with my ingredients.

Besides these spices I added in chopped red pepper and onion.

Then I cooked them on the good old George Forman grill and plated them over romaine lettuce and added more veggies on the side.

It was another great meal.

Funny how Bill and I were almost 100% vegan (and ate mostly veggies/beans/pasta) at one time but I am realizing I feel better eating less starch and more protein.

Which way of eating makes you feel the best?

On the workout front, I have been loving the yoga download app on my iPhone.

I love that I can star episodes and then pick one and get a good, calming 20 minute workout in whenever I want.

Do you use a yoga app at all?

So glad it is already Tuesday night heading into Wednesday……….

Have to Adjust

So with my new job has come less time for working out.  Sometimes I work 13 hour days like I did on Tuesday and other days I work normal 9 hour days.  Not quite like the old teaching schedule :)

The longer hours have forced made me to be more creative with my workouts and to fit working out into small time slots when I can.  I have had to adjust!

So I have turned to Jillian and Yoga Download.

Welcome to my workout/yoga/dressing room:

Yup it is still dark out.  That was this morning at 5:45 and I was just getting ready to do Jillian Michael’s 30 day Shred Level 2.  I miss Khrystle but this will do.

Pepsi wanted to work out too!

Anyway I really am loving the 30 Day Shred.  I have been doing Level 1 and Level 2 and can swear it is helping me build arm and shoulders muscles.  I did not do Level 1 for 10 days though and then move on to Level 2.  Instead I have just been doing whichever one I feel like.  I tend to not get as bored that way.  I love how quick the workouts are.  It makes it easy to fit into my day and I love that you really push yourself because you know it is not that long.

Are you short on time to work out?  What quick workouts can you turn me on to?

Why Do I Always Forget?

Today I came home and got on the mat:

Why do I always forget how wonderful yoga makes me feel?

Why do I always forget how centered, how stretched, how-at-home-in-my-body it makes me feel?

So glad I remembered today!

Afterwards I had a few sips of a new-to-me-treat:

Pom Wonderful is wonderful!  They sent me 8 bottles to try out.  I forsee a few cocktails in my future :)

Taco Night

Last night I had my first look at my new bike!

She is not ready but might be today :)

But first it was taco night over at Metal Mountain Bike Shop.

After 6:30 on a Friday Night, Trevor’s shop becomes a Taqueria ;) .  People come from all over to have tacos, beer and wine.

Okay maybe not people from all over-just our friends ;)
