Week in review

It is finally Saturday!

And I am happy to report that I just got back from a nice 10 mile run.  My garmin was misbehaving this morning but this was our route today:

I ran with 3 other women and with all the chit-chat along the way, the 10 miles seemed like a breeze.

It has been a tough week with lots going on at work.  But I have still managed to get my runs in and do them because I want to not because I have to.

  • Monday: 6 miles
  • Tuesday:20 minute yoga podcast
  • Wednesday: 3 miles
  • Thursday: 3 mile hill repeats
  • Friday: 6 miles
  • Today: 10 miles!

And I hope to get in 6 more tomorrow.

Running joy may be creeping back in after a couple of tough running weeks.

Todays 10 miles was properly fueled by a couple of glasses of vino with Bill after a LONG friday work day.

Bill has been out-of-town so it was nice to have him back.

Wine was followed by a delicious and easy vegan mac and cheese dinner.

I just mixed cooked pasta with some almond milk, coconut oil, nutritional yeast, ground garlic and some shredded vegan cheese like daiya (though I used trader joes brand and it worked fine) and topped the whole mess with avocado (because nothing is ever complete without it in our house) and some seasoning.

Then we followed the fab dinner with dessert.

Sport cookie, almond milk and almond butter and raisins.  YUM!

On tap for today?

Rest, errands and work again tonight.

Tomorrow Bill is racing a trail race :)

Hope you are having a great day.

Out of our comfort zone

Bill and I are creatures of habit.

We like to “let our hair down” on the weekends with some wine and decadent food and then we like to “tighten things up” during the week.

You most likely will never see us “go out” on a week night.  I know.  We are one wild couple :)  But it works for us.

Last night we broke our rules!

Actually we broke two rules.

We went to a friend’s house for dinner on a Sunday and we ate at 9:30 pm.

Can you say Party Animals!?

It was a lovely dinner that started with olives and bruchetta.

And wine!

And new shirts!

And finished with pasta and me asleep on the couch.

Yes I am that kind of house guest.  Stuff me full of carbs and grapes and I am out like a light :)

It was very fun though………..

Do you go out on weeknights or are you like us?

For lindsay

Last night I just had to break open a bottle of wine for Lindsay.

She celebrated Wine Wednesday in New Zealand so I thought I would join her here in the states :)

I usually drink reds but occasionally I like an oaky Chardonnay.  This was good.

I paired the wine with a wonderful rice bowl of sorts.

This one had lettuce, sprouts, raisins, brown rice, pistachios, butternut squash, a bit of sesame dressing, nutritional yeast and seaweed on top.  YUM……..

We ended up spending the evening cuddling these guys.

They sure keep Pepsi on her toes…..she is exhausted.

This morning I woke up and decided to try something festive in my coffee.

Not really a fan of it in coffee.  I think I prefer regular almond milk over this.  However I do think it would taste good in oats.

Think I may give it a try this morning.

Hope you have something planned today that is fun.

How are your Xmas plans shaping up?

Shopping and drinks

No running for me today.

Too tired.  All those hills have just about killed me.

So instead we went shopping.

Let me tell you I am not a shopper.   I definitely have to be in the mood.

The cool thing is we don’t have to drive here.  Shopping is right around the corner.

Lulu hurry up and open. Well actually don’t.  My wallet can’t take it.

Lot of fun little shops too.  Is that Pepsi?

We took a break in the action to soak up some alcohol sun.

Thankfully I had a successful shopping spree and managed to score some good deals on work clothes at Banana and The Loft.

Where do you buy your work clothes?
