World famous

Last night we made the hall out-of-town and made our normal stop at Whole Foods for food and Kombucha.

Gosh I love that stuff.

We got in late and got up early for a VERY small town race.

He was held at a local high school and only offered a 5K.

Bill and I were still super stoked.  Perfect weather, good cause, great speed workout.

Cant beat that!

Of course Bill beat all the high school track and cross-country boys with a time around 18 minutes.

And I came in 4th because those high school girls are fast!  I came in around 25 minutes…..not a PR by any means.

But at least I looked cute :)  Love my 10 us skirt!

Afterwards Bill promised me a world famous date shake.

Can you believe I have lived 42 years and not had one yet?  Of course it was not vegan but sometimes ice cream is worth it!

Hope you are having a great day!  Did you do a race today?

Let’s Get This Vacay Started

Bill and I wrapped up the house drama (plumber put in new water heater and crew started demolition in the two downstairs bedrooms which had water damage) and left town.

Pepsi is at home with her babysitter and workmen will be there around the clock finding the source of the leak in the walls. So essentially why stay and watch our beautiful house get ruined?  ;)

Let’s get this vacay started!

As every good vacation should, ours started with a trip to whole foods salad bar.

Nothing says vacation better than a good salad and wine kombucha :)

And now let the real shenanigans start.

Thank you for all of your well wishes on our house. I know this is just the joys of home ownership and I need to take it all in stride.  Sometimes easier said than done!

Have a great day and I hope you are enjoying your week wherever you are.

Quite Lucky

Thank you for all of your amazing support and kind words about my sisters’ weight loss journey.  She really was touched by your thoughtful comments and we are thinking of a guest post soon :)

I have been quite lucky lately.

This past weekend I got to meet the owner/creator/baker of these amazing bars:

I have talked about Jumpstarter bars before in this post.

Right now they are sold at Whole Foods and Metal Mountain Bike Shop and on the web only.

They truly taste like homemade bars and have great nutritional stats and only about 150 calories per bar.

Not only that but the owner/creator/baker is the sweetest woman ever!  When I told her about my sisters’ success with weight loss she volunteered to send her some bars free.  She is so nice :)

This is us:

What a great lady!  Thanks Linda for your great bars and your generosity!

The second reason why I feel quite lucky lately is because we Venturians (people who live in and around Ventura)  have such a great fitness opportunity lately.

Yesterday, Active Ventura Fitness launched their workout schedule!

Active Ventura Fitness was created by these two lovely ladies:

Check out their bios here if you get a chance.

Yesterday I partook in their Morning Buzz class-love the name!  And today I am going to do their Sunset Blitz class.  I am sore though!!!  But I love it.  All classes are outside either at a park or the beach which is an extra bonus if you ask me.

Have you taken any new or exciting fitness classes lately?  What do you love about them?

I love that strong, vibrant, fitness minded women are teaching these classes!

Hope  you have a great Tuesday and thanks for reading friends :)

I am off to go on a bike ride and then rest up for Sunset Blitz……………….

Mindful Munching

Hello friends!

I have missed you and missed blogging but have also relished the extra time it has given me.

I knew I had to check it and give you a bit of a recap of what has been going on in my neck of the woods.

Daley Dog Walking has become quite a busy side business and with Bill back to work, I have been spending lots of time walking doggies.

Running has been almost non existant because a few weeks ago I got really bad blisters from my new shoes and have had to take a break.  Instead, I have been riding my bike and doing boot camp. Can I just say boot camp has got to be one of the hardest workouts I have ever done!  I did a class on Saturday and I am still sore today-crazy.

And lastly, I have been doing a lot of mindful munching.  Hee hee…..

Take a look at what I got in the mail a few days ago:

Somersault snacks are:

  • all  natural
  • 3g fiber per serving
  • nut free
  • 7g protein per serving
  • 15% of your daily vitamin e
  • gmo free
  • trans fat free

And they taste so good.

I had to dig into the cocoa flavor first:

They also sent these other yummy flavors:

So far I have bought a few packs at Fresh and Easy and Whole Foods.

I think I need to live by their logo:

“Live upside down”-love it!

Have you ever tried somersaults?

How has your summer been?

Miss you all!
