Pepsi’s Day and Some Results

Yesterday Pepsi and I both had fun enjoying her birthday together.

My day started out with my microwaved apples and cinnamon. I take a large fuji apple and cut it up and add lots of cinnamon.  Then I place it in the microwave for at least 3 minutes.  I find the longer I cook it the better.  It really does tie me over for about 2 hours.  I think after my 21 diet, I will still eat this but add a scoop of raw almond butter.

This breakfast was accompanied by my favorite tea.  Can’t get enough of this stuff!

Then Pepsi and I got out for a birthday walk.  Gosh I remember the days when I would run her 5 miles up Mt. Rose and back on trails and she was barely tired.  Now my dear Bear Cub can only go about 3 blocks before she is really winded :(

Then I went out and ran a few errands and came back with the main event of Pepsi’s day!

Yup that is a happy dog!

Speaking of my 21 day experiment-I have lost 7 1/2 pounds since I started last Friday.  I really cannot believe how easy it has been.  Gotta love it!

On a side note, I updated my recipe page with a few of more recent recipes and later today I am gonna post a new citrus chicken recipe that is equally delicious and healthy as well.

Hope you all enjoy your Saturday.  I am off to Starbucks for some coffee, the farmers market for some fresh veggies, Lowes for a broken faucet :(  and then maybe some yoga.

Enjoy!

Motivated All the Time?

Hello Friends! Happy Friday :)

Thank you for all of your kind words about our rings.  We are really excited and feel quite official now ;)

Today I woke up quite unmotivated to work out.  Why is it that some weeks I am feeling GOOD and others I can’t even imagine running around the block?

Do you ever feel that way?

I did go on a long walk with Pepsi though.  I usually find that walking sometimes gets me going and then I am ready to tackle a harder workout.  We shall see if that works for me today.

Anyway, I hope that some goodies I got in the mail yesterday will help with my apathy towards working out.

Pepsi hopes so too!

Oh Yes! I think it might help…..

I am so excited to try these!

Have you tried Honey Milk before?

Full review to come……..Hope you have a great day and have some fun weekend plans.

Dinner Repeat, Dog Park Shenanigans and a Winner

Last we had a dinner repeat.

We copied Monday’s eats by layering steamed spinach, barley, and topping with fish.

But this time we topped with Halibut instead of salmon:

YUM!

Then we took Pepsi to the dog park.

Love our view from there:

Pepsi ran around acting like a much younger version of herself:

Love this pic of Bill and Pepsi:

If you have a dog, do you have a favorite dog park?

And the giveaway winner for these tasty treats is:

Mint Chip Cookies, Orange Dark Chocolate, Ginger Mints

Cindy!!!!! from A Sparkle a Day.  If you have not checked out her blog, you should.  She chronicles being a mom, running, knitting, and enjoying life.  One of my favs for sure :)

Have a great day friends……..it is Hump Day!

I plan on walking to work, running a quick 2 miles after work, and then going to nutrition club tonight.

Hope you have a great day!

New Themes and Things

Last night I did a bit of housekeeping in my blog home.

It was starting to feel a bit cramped around here and I needed some room to breathe.

Do you like it? :)

Lately, I have wanted to try a few items floating around the blog world.

First up I have wanted to try Millet Bread.

Well I finally picked some up at Whole Foods last weekend.  Ashlei, I can’t wait to try it!  I have a feeling my lunch will have the bread in it somehow.

Have you tried Millet Bread?

I have also wanted to read The Kind Diet thanks to a review from Karin.

I got this book in the mail yesterday and have already dug into it.  I like this quote, “In our modern culture, there is a strange disconnect between what we eat and how we feel.”

I agree!  I can’t wait to read more :)

Have you read The Kind Diet?

Well bloggies, I have just finished another delicious bowl of grape nuts, rice milk, strawberries, honey and bananas:

My plan for today is:

  • walk Pepsi
  • run with Khrystle
  • maybe a trip to a weekday farmers market?
  • some reading at the beach?

Oh vacation is wonderful.  Why does it have to end? :(
