If you know anything about me, you may know moderation has never been my strong point.

I am not one of those people who can have one cookie or one glass of wine. But I can say since reading healthy living blogs I have come a LONG way (so has Bill
).
So of course this holiday season has been somewhat of a challenge for me.
I am sure you can relate with all of the social events that should not be missed and all of the extra food and delicious cookies that seem to only come once a year (homemade biscotti, gingerbread men!) your healthy living can get derailed.
I am happy to say that I have been taking it all in stride with a few key things that work quite nicely for me.

Go out with your husband/boyfriend/friend and have some fun. Life is short!
Last night we had Bill’s work party at a greek restaurant in Malibu.

Definitely not one of the times you should stick to a strict eating regime.
Instead of being strict vegans (which we could have easily done at this restaurant) we were a bit looser and stuck to the vegetarian route.
There was no way we were going to miss out on the flaming cheese with cognac!

- My next rule is be a bit flexible and eat some food out of your normal routine.
We ended up splitting the California Greek and the Vegetarian Platter.

It was fabulous. And so worth it.
- Get in extra activity when you can.
This time of year, I try to sneak in extra walks with Pepsi or like last night get in some Greek dancing

- Rule number four would have to be get right back on the wagon the very next day.
I usually start my day after an indulgent night with a green juice of some sort.

I definitely think that helps ex out our last-minute gelato run last night.

- And of course get in some form of major activity.
Pepsi, Bill and I have already been on a walk and he is headed out on a long ride and I am headed out to run.
What types of things do you do to stay on track?
