And Then There Were Rings

Today has been a great day :)

After I had a fabulous shake made with almond butter, almond milk, cocoa powder, hemp protein, POM, oats, and frozen berries:

I went on a 32 mile ride with Melanie and Sarah:

And then came home and ate.  I was STARVING!  Biking really makes me hungry-more so than running.  In fact during my ride I ate through one package of these:

But it was not enough.  Once I got home I quickly made lunch.

I smeared avocado and cooked sweet potato between two slices of wheat bread:

Best sandwich ever with an orange from a friends back yard.  It was heaven!

Then Bill and I ventured to Ormachea, a jewelry store in downtown Ventura.  They make all of their own designs and all jewelry is specially made just for you.

Remember how I told you we ran off like silly birds and got married at the court-house in December?  Well we never got rings.

Today we ordered them :)   They are being made just for us.

Here is what mine will look like:

I love the square shape and brushed look-so modern!

I can’t wait to get it!

Now I am kicking it and blogging and soon Bill and I are headed to a friend’s house for a BBQ.  Should be a lot of fun.

Hope you are having a great day too :)

Thanks for reading friends!

An Engagement and Smoothie Friday

Hope you all had a lovely Friday :)

As usual for Friday,  Debby and I walked to work and stopped to get our smoothie fix.

Smoothie Friday is little tradition we keep up throughout the school year.

Something to look forward to all week and a little way to celebrate the end of the work week and the start of the weekend.

We always go to the same place.

And Maria always greets us with her beautiful smile:

Debby and I ordered this smoothie but subbed out peanut butter for almond butter and traded the vanilla cream for vanilla soy milk and we added spirulina-YUM:

Debby and I are two happy girls on Smoothie Friday!

Did you celebrate Smoothie Friday today by having a shake or a smoothie?

We actually had something extra special today to celebrate.  Debby got engaged!  I am so happy for her :)   She found a great guy.  They will both be super happy.

On another note, thank you for all of your great pre race suggestions.  I really liked reading all of them!

Unfortunately I have already broken one of mine-YOGA :(

Instead of doing yoga this afternoon I was at the bike shop ordering my new bike :)

I am so dang excited!

As soon as I get her I will show you…….Oh I can’t wait.

Hope you have a great night.

Are you doing anything fun this weekend?

Stay tuned because I am announcing a giveaway tomorrow.  I think you will like it!

TGIT

Thank god it is Thursday :)

Does anyone out there suffer from Migraines?

I used to have terrible migraines as a child.

But I seem to have out grown them up until…………………………………..LAST NIGHT :(

I woke up in the middle of the night with the WORST headache.  I stumbled to the medicine cabinet and took 4 advil-this usually does the trick.

No luck.  I was in PAIN and nauseous and sweating.

I went and laid down in the spare bedroom because poor Bill did not need to hear me moaning.

It was awful.

Still feel out of it this morning but must go to work-the little kiddies are waiting for their teacher :)

Before all this happened I made another lovely, “clean out the fridge” dinner.

Baked up some yellow squash, zucchini, sweet potatoes, an apple, and garlic cloves:

Cooked up some quinoa with some roasted corn mixed in:

All together now topped with some nuts:

It was yummy :)

On another note, I am bikeless but check out my hubby’s NEW RIDE:

Can you see why I want a new bike?

Check out the cool sticker in the front:

He came home with this beauty yesterday.  The bike is so light!

So beautiful…….

Trevor is a genius.  If you live nearby and ever want a bike stop by his shop!

Lastly, if you have not already, will you vote for me?

Have a great day lovelies!

We are almost to the weekend :)

A Surprise Celebration

Saturday turned out to be a day of Fitness, Fun and Food!  Perfect if you ask me.

Of course how can you go wrong when you start with chocolate pancakes?

Terri and I enjoyed a wonderful ride.  It started off cold but once we got away from the ocean and into the hills it was perfect.

A mid-way treat.  Cranberry, walnut muffin and tea:

After the ride, My husband and I had lunch with some friends at an outdoor café.  Unfortunately no pictures were taken but I did have a yummy turkey and bacon wrap.  We also shared probably the best chips and salsa I ever had.  Nice think, crunchy chips-mmmmm.  Thank you for coming to our neighborhood, Ann and Dave!

Then the surprise occurred!  We found out it was Terr’is birthday and celebrated at a small italian restaurant.  What could be better?  Good friends, good conversation, and lots of good food………….

Here is the evidence (sorry for the bad lighting):

Thank you friends for such an enjoyable day.

Today is all about detoxification!  I foresee a sweaty run in my future and a green monster shake.

Hope you have a great Sunday!
