Taco Night

Last night I had my first look at my new bike!

She is not ready but might be today :)

But first it was taco night over at Metal Mountain Bike Shop.

After 6:30 on a Friday Night, Trevor’s shop becomes a Taqueria ;) .  People come from all over to have tacos, beer and wine.

Okay maybe not people from all over-just our friends ;)

John and Mark

Mark, Mike, Khrystle, and Bill (in the background)

Mark is a fellow bloggy in crime. Check out his blog if you get a chance :)

Bill and Trevor-yes that is MY BIKE!

Pepsi

Sade

We order the tacos from a little breakfast/lunch joint a few doors down:

Love this!

Shrimp Tacos-spicey and delicious!

Beef Tacos-these were very flavorful

And here I am with my loved one:

Today is all about resting the legs for my 8K tomorrow and:

  • making a playlist for the race
  • yoga
  • get bike?

What are you up to on this glorious Saturday?

Greek Eats and a Bike Race

I am sitting in bed with a sunburn and exhausted-but it was a GREAT day :)

Bill and I headed down to Los Angeles so he could race in the LA Circuit Race.

Weather wise it could not have been better.  Clear blue sky’s and temps in the 80′s-you got to love that!

We drove the coast route-taking the 1 through Malibu:

Can’t get much better than this.  Bill and I still pinch ourselves that we live here :)

Once we got to the race, Bill got ready:

And then he lined up with the rest of the guys:

And they raced:

While he was racing I ran into these guys:

Trevor, Khrystle, and Sade

Trevor ended up getting first in his race!

And I ran into these guys:

Sara and John

Bill had a good race and was able to comfortably finish with the pack.

Afterwards, we decided we would stop at our very favorite Greek Restaurant in Malibu:

We started with a Kendall Jackson Chardonnay for me and a Mythos Greek Beer for Bill:

I got my usual favorite-the Greek Californian Salad:

Seriously this is the best greek salad ever.  It is a traditional greek salad but with added avocado and sun-dried tomatoes.

Today I had them add some grilled shrimp too-so good:

Well  bloggy friends,  I so hope you had a great weekend too.

The week is about to start up again but I only have to work until Thursday and then I am off for Spring Break-YAY

Anyone else taking Spring Break off?

Have a great night and thanks for reading.

xoxo

Rock it Old School

Last night we made up a big pile of green beans with olive oil, sea salt, pepper,  and pumpkin seeds:

Which we paired with a delicious salad filled with spring mix, radishes, tuna, shredded parmesan cheese, raisins, and more pumpkin seeds:

It was quite good.

We watched a few episodes of Californication on Netflix.  Any one else a fan?

And then it was time to pick a winner for the Thermal Hoodie!

We decided to Rock it Old School :)

Filled out raffle tickets with everyone’s name on it and put into a bowl:

My assistant mixed them up really good:

Then picked the ticket:

Madeline from Greens and Jeans won :) !

She said she could wear the Hoodie with Yoga pants to work-CUTE!

Thanks to all of you for participating……For my first giveaway it was a lot of fun.

And thanks to Trevor for donating the Hoodie for a worthy cause ;)

Today I am looking forward to my first speed workout with Khrystle.  We are meeting this afternoon.  I am still a bit sore from our strength training sesh so we shall see…………

I’ll report back later to let you know how it went.

Are you working out today?  What will you do?

Oh my almost forgot!  Here is a pic of my new bike frame:

She is a beauty!

Have a great day.

The Good, The Bad, and The Pretty

Last night Bill made us a pasta dinner for my pre race fuel :)

He is a master in the kitchen and he even took pics of his masterpiece:

Organic pasta with onions, sun dried tomatoes, zuccini, and olives

It was delicious.

This morning before he got on his new bike he had this bowl of yum:

Oatmeal with almond butter and agave

And I had this before my race:

So about the race……….

The Good:

  • ran 6.2 miles
  • the route was awesome along the water
  • finished in 58:22 (9:22 average)
  • placed 8th in my age group
  • ran into a student of mine:

My student, Brian and me :)

He rocked the race averaging 8:35 miles!

The Bad:

  • felt horrible the whole time
  • relived my breakfast the whole race
  • wanted to go faster but could not

Overall, I am happy with my average pace.  I used to be really slow and averaging 9:22 per mile is good FOR ME.

I want to go faster now :)

I guess I should start training :(

On to The Pretty:
