Meet my new kindle

Today I rode downtown to meet up with the Tuesday group but nobody showed except for Terri.  Usually we just ride about 20 miles up and down the coast but since nobody else showed up, she and I decided to ride to Ojai and back which gave us a total of 31 miles.

I so still love my bike :)

It took us a little over two hours to complete the ride.

And I was famished when we got back.

I had to eat fast so I could get to my mani/pedi appointment.

I piled leftover brown rice, soybeans, 2 hardboiled eggs, nutritional yeast and tahini all in one bowl and inhaled it.

I know not that pretty but delicious!

Then I showered up and on my way into the nail place I ate this.

And now I am playing with my new kindle :)

Up until today I have been using the kindle app on my iphone. Honestly it works great!  But being the reader that I am, I just had to have a Kindle.

Now I am happy :)

Do you have one?

Why Do I Always Forget?

Today I came home and got on the mat:

I did a simple 20 minute yoga download class:

Sorry for the blurry pic!

Why do I always forget how wonderful yoga makes me feel?

Why do I always forget how centered, how stretched, how-at-home-in-my-body it makes me feel?

So glad I remembered today!

Afterwards I had a few sips of a new-to-me-treat:

Pom Wonderful is wonderful!  They sent me 8 bottles to try out.  I forsee a few cocktails in my future :)

Happy Tuesday!’

Don’t forget to check out the winner of the Newman’s Own goodies in the morning.

Good night……………..

Oops almost forgot-here is Pepsi doing her downward dog :)

A New Blogger

Last night we had a great night with lots of food and family.

When we get home tomorrow I will share some of the highlights but for now I am still iPhone blogging!

This morning I woke up in the beautiful desert and headed out on a run. I am on a roll!

Then treated myself to a wonderful pedicure and manicure. It was one of the bests I have had.

Later on Bill, Barb (my mom in law), and I headed out for some shopping.
It has been a great day so far!

The best part though is this:

Barbara, my mom in law has started a blog! She is so cute.

If you get a chance, stop by and say hi.
Her blog is Fit and Sixty

Are you doing anything fun tonight?
Have you motivated anyone to start a blog?

Runmeter Fun

Today has been a very relaxing day.

I love days when I am not rushing around.  I feel like I do enough rushing during the work week.  Weekends are best when they are slow and easy.

My husband was able to sneak in a long bike ride between the rain storms and I was able to enjoy the break between storms too.

My day started with these oats cooking on the stove:

I mixed in bananas, raisins, cinnamon, flax seed and topped with some more bananas and organic jelly.  We are out of almond butter!  YIKES!

Then Pepsi and I headed to the dog park:

She loves the park.

I think  know she prefers sniffing around by herself-but she tolerated these two:

On our way home we spotted these pretty poppies:

After I dropped Pepsi off, I took off on my run

I think I finally have mastered using the runmeter app on my iPhone.

It is an application that basically works like a Garmin GPS.  It took some getting used to on previous runs.  It has its quirks and you must learn how to use it while listening to your ipod and answering calls.  I have finally figured it out though!  And I LOVE it!  This is one of the reasons why I wanted the iPhone so badly.  I wanted to be able to bring ONE thing on a run instead of a separate ipod, separate Garmin, and separate phone.  Now I have it all in one place!

Check it out:

This is where I headed today:

And this is what the loop looks like on the runmeter:

Pretty cool!

Got home and had a shake-out of spinach so it is NOT green:

Went to Target. Then got a pedicure-finally.

And then came home and had lunch with my husband:

Now we are watching True Blood.  Is anyone else addicted to this show?

Soon we will be heading out to meet up with friends.  Looking forward to some good wine, good conversation, and good food.

Have a great night yourself!

If you have a chance, stop by Berni’s blog and wish her well.  She is running her first half marathon tomorrow!  Good luck Berni-I know you will do great……
