I love rottweilers

Have I ever told that my favorite dog breed is a rottweiler?

Yes I know I have a lab but before we had her, we had this guy.

Actually to be 100% accurate in my story telling……I had this guy and Bill had Pepsi when we met.

Pepsi is a wonderful dog and has so many incredible traits but to me there is nothing like a rottweiler.  They are loyal, funny, strong, athletic, and when raised right very sweet and loving.

Last night we got to spend some time with one up in Ojai.  We are the primary dog walkers for the Ojai Valley Inn which means every few weeks, we head up there and get to spend quality time with dogs and get paid for it.  Perfect job ever!

So last night we got to hang out with Savannah.

We took her on a walk.

We had dinner at an outside cafe on the resort property.

And then we cuddled with her in the hotel room until her mom came home.

It was so great to be able to get my rottie fix!

What is your favorite dog breed?

Pepsi…..Mom still loves you!

Maybe the best dog would be a Pepsi dog mixed with a rottie ;)  Yes that sounds perfect!

To Enjoy

Lately my dear bloggy friend, Heather who is not only the creator of totally healthy and cute doggie treats but the writer of a very inspiring blog has been writing a daily “to-do” list.  However it is not a chore-like “to-do”  list in fact it is a daily TO ENJOYlist.  I love reading things that she will do that she enjoys everyday.  It has reminded me even on my busiest work days to take time out for things I enjoy.  It has also reminded me that many things I do daily even if they feel like chores (walking Pepsi) are actually things that bring joy and serenity to my day.

Heather, I love your to enjoy lists!

The next couple of weeks I am off from work for a mini summer break.  I have been thinking about my to-enjoy list all weekend and have come up with one for the week that will ensure I enjoy every single day I am off work.

This is my to enjoy list for my vacation:

  • Eat a yummy breakfast everyday like my new favorite oat bran, chia seeds, tahini, and raw almond butter.

  • Walk the puppies in the evening with my husband.

  • Enjoy cuddle time with these guys and with my girl.

  • Ride my bike!
  • Trail run on these lovely trails:

  • Have lunch with my sis
  • And sit in the sun and read.

Do you have a To Enjoy list for summer yet?

Happy Friday!

Yay for Friday!!!!!

Hope you have something fun planned for this weekend.

Maybe some dog walking?

Maybe some cycling?

Maybe some trail running?

Or maybe just some wine drinking ;)

Whatever you are doing ENJOY!

And have a great day………..

Happiness Comes in Forms

Hello Friends!

Gosh it has been so long since I last blogged though I think about it all the time.  I really appreciate all of the people who keep encouraging me to continue my blog and I will try that is for sure.  Life has just been so busy!

Today I was inspired to write because as I was running I was thinking of how happy I have felt as of late.  I wanted to share my happiness with you and of course catch you up on some of our shenanigans :)

First of all I LOVE my new job.  Most of you who have been reading my blog know that I have been a school teacher for a long time and only some of you know I was trying to leave teaching to become an administrator (assistant principal, dean, or principal).  Well my  new job is Dean of Students for a High School and even though I am working much longer hours-I LOVE IT!  Happiness comes in surprising places that is for sure.

Secondly, I must share how happy I have been since Bill has been racing 5K’s with me.  We have been having fun motivating each other and planning races together.

Happiness can also come in material forms for sure, and I am loving my new car.  His name is Silver and he is fast ;)

Of course happiness is spending times with friends and eating great meals which I have been doing a lot of lately as well :)

Last weekend Bill and I shared a Melting Pot meal with Ashley:

And last night we had a fabulous meal with Carol and Jack-can you say Filet Mignon Chicken Fried steak?  Oh yes I did and I ate the whole thing!

Happiness is also abound with Daley Dog Walking-our side business.  It has gotten so busy that we hired two girls on to help us.  Check them out-they are so cute :)

Here we all are-the dog walking gang!

And lastly, happiness to me is making an offer on this house which is only about 1/2 mile from the beach.

Who knows if the bank will accept our offer-it is a short sale-but I feel happy and fortunate just to have the opportunity to make an offer in these times.

Life is good friends!  I hope you have had happiness around you as well lately.  I truly believe that life is short and we must enjoy every wonderful, busy moment.

Have a wonderful Sunday and enjoy friends!
