Puppy Bear

Last night was a lot of fun.

Really how can you go wrong with good wine, good food, and great people?

Today I used my runmeter again and ran another 5 mile loop.

Then I decided to take Pepsi to a local park that has an extensive trail system.

It is also very dog friendly!

I am not sure why I don’t take her here more.  It is only about a 5 minute drive from our house and she loves it!

Today I kept an extra eye on her because these signs were posted everywhere:

Scary!

This is what I call her “puppy bear” pose:

After our outdoor adventures, we ventured to Trader Joe’s.  Not a good idea on Super Bowl Sunday when everyone is picking up snacks for their parties.  Actually, any Sunday at TJ’s is a mess.  I wish we had some other stores in this town!  We don’t have Whole Foods, Sprouts, or anything!  Grrrrrrr…….

Anyway, I picked up a new item to try:

So far I have not tried it but I did use it in my vegan energy bars instead of normal almond butter.

I doubled the recipe and made half of the bars in a cupcake tin.  I have finally tried the reusable cupcake liners my sis bought me a long while back-thanks sis!:

They are cooking now as I type and boy does the house smell divine!

Hope you are all having a lovely Sunday.

Thanks for reading and enjoy the Super Bowl if you are watching!

Small Joys

There is something about sitting in bed, drinking coffee, reading blogs, and knowing I have no where I HAVE to be……..

To me that is something special!

I love lazy mornings.  Do you or do you like to get up and go?

I am going to get up soon though

I have plans to make some oatmeal.

Walk Pepsi to the park.

Go for a run with my new Runmeter application on my IPhone.

Go to Target.

Get a pedicure.

Hang out with hubby.

Have wine and dinner with some lovely friends.

It looks like a great day…….

I will posts some pics later!

I hope you enjoy your day too.

Step Away From the Electronic Devices

Here is Pepsi saying, “Mom get away from the iPhone”!

This thing is addicting:

Pepsi is right though.  Too beautiful of a day to be chained to some electronic device-no matter how “cool” it is.

We went to the dog park.  Then I did a four mile run.  The beach was beautiful today.  I took a pic with my iPhone to show you but I don’t know how to transfer pictures from my phone to the computer.

Can anyone help me with this?

After lunch it was errand time.

Bill and I went here:

Now the fridge is full and we can eat for another week!

We picked up a little something fun and decided to give it a whirl while we made dinner, packed lunches, and baked up some energy bars:

It was pretty tasty and so was this yummy dinner of pasta, spinach, garlic, sun dried tomatoes, feta cheese, and broccoli:

Tomorrow I will share the energy bars I made.  They taste like oatmeal raisin cookies!

Have a great night.

I am off to finally read the Sunday paper.

Entering the 21st Century

Today has turned out to be a fun and technologically savvy day!

Breakfast was a delicious bowl of oatmeal with rice milk, almond butter and organic preserves:

Then I walked Pepsi to the dog park.  This is the view from the park:

After that I  went for an hour run.  I so wish I could take Pepsi with me.  But she is getting up in age and it is too much for her.

So I left her on her bed with her bone:

I felt pretty good on my run.  Could it be the Bovine colostrum I have been taking?

Then I came home and had lunch and some snacks:

Then the fun began

My husband came home and we went to the AT&T store and FINALLY got iPhones!!!!  Finally us old folks got with the 21st century!  Taylor thank you for all of your help and patience.  We are super happy!

Love my pink “sleeve.”  Here is “fit and forty something” on the phone in the car!  CRAZY!

Then we celebrated at an awesome vegan restaurant called, Mary’s Secret Garden.  It is beyond deliciousness.

I ordered the organic Pinot Noir.  My husband had the coconut water and we shared some whole wheat pita bread (warm and yummy).

Yes he IS playing with his iPhone in the background!

I had the unfried falafel pita with some sort of delicious dipping sauce:

We shared a raw smoothie on the drive home.  It had cacao nibs, coconut milk, medjool dates, and a banana.

So satisfying…….

Off to enjoy the rest of the evening.

I hope to upload a garmin application for running.  Does anyone have this on their iPhone?
