Snackin

The other day I mentioned being super snacky.  Lucky for me we have gotten some new snacks in the mail lately.

Bill and I love granola though we tend to snack sparingly on it but this stuff is different.

We asked Kim, the owner and creator, why her granola was different and this is what she said,

“I wanted to create a tasty, healthy, snackable multigrain granola . By adding the flax and hemp I in essence added healthy omega 3 ‘s . Quinoa is a nutty flavored grain that is higher in proteins than other grains. It imparts a unique flavor to the mix. I also chose organic sunflower oil in place of canola oil for obvious reasons. Many of the granolas on the shelf(even organic) have either canola or soy oil. I also played around with all kinds of different sweeteners and settled on honey with a little organic brown sugar. Honey is a good sweetener that has been around for millennial, less processed than some of the other new sweeteners out there.By creating clusters the granola lends itself to being a snackable granola ,great as a trail mix, before or after working out. or as healthy sweet treat.

It really is delicious and we love that it is locally made.

Do you like granola?

What has been your favorite snack as of late?

Sunshine kind of day

Dealing with stress

This week things have been particularly stressful at work.  State testing is a toughy and lots of stress is involved but I thankfully have a great team to work with :)

So when things get stressful I tend to turn to a few things:

  • wine
  • chocolate
  • sleep
  • and running!
  • and some healthy snacks
Running is my number one stress reliever.  It clears my mind, refreshes my soul, and takes the edge off of all of the little concerns that should not be flooding my brain.
This week, I have been getting up a few minutes earlier than normal and busting out 7 miles.

 It has been incredible!
I come to work refreshed, recentered, and little less stressed.
And since stress tends to make me want to eat more I have been munching on this granola.
Heaven I tell you!
How do you deal with stress?
