In the raw

Lately, Bill and I have really been focusing on vegan meals

We also just received this book from Open Sky (yes I am addicted) and have been pouring over all of it’s information.

One of the things that has stuck has been the concept of eating more raw foods as well.

So we decided to start with breakfast.

Usually we cook oat bran or GF oats.

So instead of cooked oats we have been making a variation of vegan overnight oats in a jar.

Here is what has been going into our concoctions as of late:

I would have to call this Raw, Vegan, Chocolate Overnight Oats.

Ingredients:

  • 1/3 GF oats
  • 1 to 1 1/2 cup almond milk
  • 1/2 tsp cinnamon
  • pinch of salt
  • 1 tsp maca powder
  • 1 tsp cacao powder
  • 1 tsp chia seeds
  • 1 scoop chocolate protein powder
  • some berries on top
  • add some almond butter the morning of

You know we both have been enjoying this!  It is chocolatey and energizing thanks to the maca powder and quite satisfying.  In fact here are the benefits of using maca powder if you are interested.

How do you like your oats? Have you tried overnight oats yet?

Enjoy your day!

I love Brendan Brazier’s books! My husband and I are 95% vegan and 80% raw. Eating this way has improved my health dramatically! Look forward to reading more of your post.
