Pinning is good

Pinning is good!

And no I am not talking about Pinterest.  Though I like that too :)

I am talking acupuncture.

I have starting seeing an acupuncturist lately again to ward off my running woes (psoas, piriformis , IT band issues).  It really helps me!  In an effort to be proactive this time, stretching, foam rolling, massage and now acupuncture has been saving me and I am feeling good and able to continue my running mileage weekly.

Yesterday, I got off work early and walked to my acupuncturist office.

He is very intuned with my needs and spends a few minutes each session going over my ailments with me.  Lately he has been treating me for my running stuff and hormonal issues.

After we talk he starts the pinning!

Sometimes I feel very sleepy and relaxed and other times I feel energized from the appointment.  I always try to drink a lot of water post treatment and to make sure I stay warm and get a good nights sleep.

What are your feelings about acupuncture?  Have you tried it?  Would you?  Do you think it works?

I really believe that it works, last year I had terrible back pain and accupunture was the only thing that got me out of pain.  Also many many years ago, I got accupunture for my Rottweiler’s back pain and it helped him so much too :)

Happy Thursday!

I have not tried acupuncture – yet! Although I’ve come close to calling an acupuncturist when dealing with some injuries! Lately I’ve been having some difficulty sleeping. I wonder if an acupuncturist could help?

Not sure if I could do it, not a needles fan.

  3. I’ve never tried acupuncture. I’m glad it’s helping you!!!

  4. Kristie says:

I’m deathly afraid of needles, but I love acupuncture! I haven’t been in many years, but I’ve had some issues come up lately that made me think I should go back. I hadn’t thought about going for running-related issues–what a great idea!

I strongly believe in the efficacy of acupuncture and would not hesitate to use it if I needed it. There aren’t too many acupuncturists in Topeka, KS but I’m sure I could find a good one in Lawrence which is about a half hour away. Glad it’s working for you.

I’ve never needed to try it but believe it or not, my grandmother used to go see one (and this is when it was Kooky to do so) and she swears by it.

I forget what it helped her deal with, but I am guessing arthritis.

    i would def. try it!
    good for you

i am actually in the process of considering acupuncture to try and resolve this lingering calf injury so seeing this post today was really beneficial. my insurance doesn’t cover it so anything i hear or read from people i know is a huge help in my decision to try or not. thanks :)

I love acupuncture. It seriously can heal things that other methods do not. It’s scary to consider, but it doesn’t hurt, and it ends up being really relaxing
