I know there is a heat wave going on across the country.
At least that is what I hear.
It is hard to believe considering the temps by the beach cannot get over 69 degrees. The fog is killing me! I am like a lizard-I need sun
So yesterday after a foggy and drizzly 20 mile ride, I took matters into my own hands and drove 20 minutes east to a small, quaint, and very warm (85 degrees) town called Ojai (pronounced oh-hi).
Pepsi and I left the fog behind.
And headed to Ojai.
First stop was this awesome market called the Rainbow Bridge.
I meandered around the isles while Pepsi waited outside.
Then I found the perfect snack.
And then Pepsi and I walked the quaint downtown area.
We finally ended up at the park downtown called Libby Park.
Pepsi enjoyed the shady grass and scenery.
While I enjoyed catching up on my magazine reading.
It was a great afternoon!
Where do you like to escape to?
Any fun weekend plans in store?

Oh gorgeous pictures. Looks like a fantastic place. I can’t even fathom 69 degrees right now.
Ojai is so cute. I’ve only ever driven through it. I need to stop and stay some time.
we should meet there to hike and have lunch!
These days I’m escaping to my bedroom which is the only room in the house that has a/c (well, the bathroom is attached). At 5AM this morning the temperature inside the rest of my house was 86* – don’t know what the heat index was. I fixed a SIAB (with chia which I am now in love with) and slunk back into the a/c bliss. Supposed to get to 103 actual, above 110 heat index. UGH!!!
i wish it was warm enough so i would want a SIAB….i bought all the ingredients but every morning i just want warm oats!
I just ran in 90 degree weather, I need an escape. Let’s see kale chips, kombucha, a pretty park (with Pepsi) and Real Simple. I would say you nailed it.
You are lucky, my husband’s job has been working him 6 day a week lately so no escape for us.
What an awesome day! Cute area!
You can have our heat wave – I’ll take your 69 degrees any day!
Nothing much planned this weekend – although I am getting together with my Mom on Sunday – she’s selling her house and has an open house and can’t be home – I may try to find a flea market or something fun to do!
Have a great weekend!
What a great day! Here in the Sac valley, we can get horridly dry triple-digit heat in the summer that I need to escape from on the weekends. So we either head to the coast, like Santa Cruz or Monterey, or the Tahoe mountains.
i love santa cruz! so fun….
We are so lucky to live close to a wonderful town like Ojai! We’ll be at Lake Casitas tomorrow, so I’m going drag the hubby into town for lunch and a little shopping
Isn’t Rainbow Bridge a great store?!
i agree kristie! what a great town ojai is
thats my perfect escape and perfect snack. I hope you get more of those this weekend.
it is 98 in the shade here… BLECH! its the humidity that kills me. I was actually laying on the couch with the AC on reading that very same magazine!!!
sunday I will take my girls to lake champlain where we will have our first paddle board lesson. Can’t wait!
Did that kale say it cost 7.49$??? yikes!
i know the kale chips were expensive but that was my lunch
69 sounds like heaven to me right now. We topped out at 98 today! That’s too hot for this northern girl.
That store looks like a place I could browse for hours!
69 degrees? I’m jealous. Our heat index was 122 today. Ojai looks like a great little town – that store is wonderful! I love the ceiling and the lights, so cool.
