Yesterday I blogged about our much-needed relaxing weekend. Lots of rest, good food and this wonderful raw, vegan, cream sauce.
This is really something special and I hope you give it a try.
What you will need is:
- 1 avocado
- 1 cup raw cashews
- 4 cups of raw spinach
- 1 cup of fresh basil
- juice from one lemon
- nutritional yeast, salt and pepper to taste
- olive oil to thin it out (I did not use any)
Just blend all of the ingredients in a food processor.

This sauce can be used on pretty much anything-toast, baked potatoe, rice but we put it on gluten-free pasta.
It is so creamy and basily you would never guess there wasn’t any cream in it. I think the avocado is the ticket for sure.
Bill said it was the best sauce he has ever tasted!
I think I agree

I must try this. I love anything with avocado!!
Avo is a great cream substitute, however I can’t get my family to eat green sauce!
Hi Kalli,
If Bill says it is the best sauce he’s tasted, I’m making it tonight!!! Thanks for sharing.
Oooh, that looks yummy.
Love super simple, super healthy sauces like that.
I agree with Melissa, if it has avocado, how bad can it be? I love the greens/basil here too sort of pesto-ish. Thank you.
I am still licking my fingers from your green monster salad dressing (which I need to make more of) but I DO happen to have everything (maybe not that much basil)
YUMMY
um…. YUM!!
Hi Kalli, wow…this recipe is a “must try”!!! Thanks for sharing!!!
The sauce looks wonderful, I do need to try it!
Yum. Anything with avocado is a winner!
Yummy yum yum – will definitely give it a try!
Yum, love the color of this sauce!
Sounds like a delicious sauce…I love the creamy avocado in there!
This sounds sooo good! How much does it make and how long does it keep in the fridge?
