I am a coffee drinker BUT I only have one big mug a day. The rest of the day if I want something hot or filling I turn to tea.
My friend Mark Tucker who used to blog
turned me on to this fantastic local tea called Zhena’s Gypsy Tea. Natasha Lane sent me some samples to try and to giveaway to one of my readers. I imagine I need to make it up to you since I have been MIA for a few days
First let me tell you about the tea!
They are 100% organic and 100% fair trade. They carry herbal, green, and black varieties. Here are some of the flavors she sent me to try:

Very unique flavors and look at the great note:
So far Bill and I have tried the Mango Ginger and Coconut Chai flavors and they are both really good. I love how aromatic the tea bags are.

Do you like tea?
If you do leave me a comment and tell me your favorite tea and/or tweet the giveaway.
I will pick a winner for the giveaway on Friday morning.
Here is what you will win:
Hope you have a great day……..I am off to run 3 miles and then get on my bike with some friends.
See you later!

I *LOVE* tea. I used to have a pretty bad diet coke habit, which turned to a diet dr. pepper habit when I was pregnant.
But boy, reading about the relationship between soda and pancreatic cancer…I still occasionally have a soda, but now I’m all about the tea. And I’m trying to drink it mostly with no sweetener. The dentist gave me crap about sugar, so I switched to splenda, but now mostly go unsweetened.
I think my all time fave is Tazo Awake tea. These days, I also like Green Star Coffee’s English Breakfast and China Oolong Magnolia. And Kirkland Green tea is pretty good too. Most of the time, I’m drinking Lipton (it’s all about what they stock at work).
For my birthday, one of my coworkers got me a little tea cup infuser. He knows me well. I think I will try it out this week.
Good luck on the run. I hit the snooze too many times due to a little 4 year old snuggling, and ended up skipping the gym and walking/running for 35 mins instead. I think I am going to train for a triathlon with a local group if it’s not too late to join. My friend is the swim coach, and is trying to get me to do it. I do not swim well, but I am still having issues with my leg while running distance, so the half marathons may be a part of my past for awhile.
Coconut Chai? Oh, YUM! I NEED to get some of that. I grew up w/ “tea time” at my house as my mom is from England and we had tea time on a daily basis. Even our pet pup got a bowl of tea w/ milk each evening! My fav last winter was STASH decaf chocolate hazelnut. Add a dash of almond milk and it was my chocolate fix while my students were at P.E. Yesterday I added some organic green tea (also by STASH) to a glass of lemonade as my a/c was broke and I was waiting for the repair person.
I am not a tea person at all. I prefer a good cup of coffee!
i don’t nearly drink as much as I should. i am intrigued now that you said when you need something “filling”. do tell? does tea fill you up? i like green tea the best!

These look really good. Great packaging too. I keep searching for a tea I really like. It is hard for me because I LOVE my coffee and know I should drink more tea, if I could find one I love, I’d buy it all the time.
Tea time! Call me the Mad Hatter but I love a good tea party. It’s the classic earl gray for me. May be boring, but I love it:)
cacaoberry? that sounds great! Right now I really like yogi’s Hazelnut Tahitian!
I’m bopping my own chai tea bag in a mug of hot water and pumpkin seed milk now!
I’m not a huge tea drinker – other than iced tea. I will say that I have discovered that I like vanilla chai though. I also like raspberry flavored teas. The only problem….makes me have to rush to the potty so that is one reason I don’t drink a lot of it.
My favorite tea is called pommegranate razzle – I make iced tea out of it and its so good!
Have a great ride!
Even now that it is 110 degrees outside I still drink lots of tea! I drink PG Tips and Chai in the morning and green tea in the afternoon.
I drink tons of tea…rarely have coffee. My breakfast tea is plain old black Irish tea – Barry’s. With milk. It’s awesome. During the day I might have more but I also usually have a Tazo Earl Grey too. I love Tazo teas…and Numi…and I also use a lot of loose leaf flowering/green and spiced teas too. Love, love tea.
Those teas look like they would be a lot of fun to try! I’m a morning
coffee drinker but have an evening tea habit….2 cups of decaf green tea
every night! Don’t know the brand-something from the grocery store. I would
love to experiment with some new ones though! I’m convinced that drinking
tea daily has kept me from getting as many nagging colds and such this year!:) so jealous that you get to get out and run and bike ride- sitting in an ofc for the next 8hrs here! Enjoy!!
I love tea! My favorite is pomegranate green tea from Art of Tea. They are also fair trade organic.
genmaicha. I like eating the little rice bits.
I am a huge tea drinker. I especially love loose teas. Coffee is my major addiction but I do enjoy tea a lot. I drank all sorts: pregnancy tea, nursing tea, chocolate mint . . . I could go on.
oh my gosh do I love my tea! all those flavors look so unique and delish! I too get my one mug of (decaf now) and then it’s tea all day.
we should starte a tea club! haha
good luck with your interview! can’t wait to hear all about it, and enjoy your run/ride!
xoox
I love chai tea. It is so delicious!
I love coffee and tea. One of my favorites is Constant Comment. Old-fashioned, but a goodie!
Yes I love tea, my fav is english tea. Those teas look pretty awesome.
my favorite tea is Good Earth sweet&spicy tea!
I love love love tea! It’s my own little addiction. My favorites are usually a boring old black tea like Earl Grey or English Breakfast but I love trying all of the others … rooibos is pretty tasty. There were a couple of really cute tea houses here in town for a while, but I think the economy killed them.
I love tea! One of my favorites is Blackberry Sage from Republic of Tea.
I’m not a big fan of hot beverages in general but I do keep tea here for when I am so cold that I just can’t warm up!
I used to drink a lot of tea but haven’t dranken much lately. I need to get back into it! This post may have just done the trick.
OOOI would LOVE to win this! I would say Green Tea (Japanese) is my fav but I don’t have particular brands, etc, I would just LOVE to win this!
Zhenas gypsy teas are perfict for spoiling yourself a little. Lemon Jasmine green tea is my favorite but I havent had one from them that I havent loved. That pomberry & cherryberry look amazing!
I love tea as well! My favorites are ginseng green tea and anything with ginger. I haven’t tried too many flavors, so I would love to win this and try more!!
I *LOVE* tea. I only drink coffee if it’s frou-frou (think soy mocha @ Starbucks) Right now my fave tea is an herbal blend I got on etsy. I love Zhena’s Gypsy Tea Raspberry Earl in the morning, though. It’s a good waking up tea with the zing from the berry!
Zhena’s is my new favorite Earl (greater) Grey! Although I’m a two to four pot a day coffee addict, my wet bar in the living room has a whole cabinet and a few shelves of tea. I am going to brew a cup and eat buckwheat waffles with pure maple syrup now.
Tyrvald the Teahead
To me tea is a lot like wine…. there is a massive variety out there and the more you explore the more your body learns to pick up the subtle nodes of flavor.
For all coffee lovers I strongly suggest Zhena’s Black Coconut Chi (even if you hate coconut!) I’m not a fan of coconut myself, but this tea to me is one of the best I’ve ever had.
I don’t know if you’ve ever read about Zhena’s past, but she has a degree in aromatherapy, which is greatly reflected in her coconut chi… it’s filled with layers of smells and flavors that are smokey and creamy, with layers of nutmeg and clove….. if you like coffee I promise you, you will love that tea! (and since it’s a black tea, you’ll get your caffeine just like with coffee)
My other tea recommendation is Tazo’s Passion Fruit tea. I recommend that one to all tea skeptics, because it is so full of flavor and bright in color that it tastes almost like juice…. it’s great hot or cold, and if you shake it up with sugar it will actually froth a little bit. It’s caffeine free, and doesn’t really need any sugar added… it’s a great tea for all those trying to avoid soda, or for those who are not fond of the subtle teas.
Anyway, those are my two biggest loves in the tea world.
My favorite tea just happens to be made by Zhena’s Gypsy Tea: Uplifting Earl Grey. And the tins are reusable, too. There is not a bad flavor in her entire assortment; such an awesome company, too!
My wife and I love these tea’s. They are a perfect way to end a day and settle your body to get into that perfect mode. The chocolate is something you can NOT live without!
I think the best tea I’ve ever tasted was a heavenly Teavana blend that a friend sent me: Jasmine Dragon Phoenix Pearls Green Tea + Rooibos Tropica. It looks to be about one part Jasmine Dragon to four parts Rooibos Tropica, and is incredible over ice.
I now try to avoid caffeine (even the small amounts in green tea), but every now and then I’ll pop open that air-tight Teavana canister just to take in this tea’s aroma. I would file it under: tropical; one-minute vacations; life’s little pleasures; olfactory bliss; quasi-spiritual experiences; profound inner contentedness.
Zhena’s Gypsy Teas are the best!!!! My fav. is Fireside Chai but my favorite iced is Egyptian Mint … nothing more refreshing!
I love Tea
I enjoy a cup of earl grey during the day when I need a pick up and drink Acai berry or green tea through out the day and after dinner close to bed time I love lavender tea.. very relaxing. Great giveaway
I tweeted.
I love tea! Oolong and white peony are my favorites, but I’ve been getting more into fruity herbal teas. All those fruit flavors sound delicious!
Adagio’s Roobios Berry is my favorite. I’m a slow tea drinker and this tea stays full of flavor even if I let it steep too long or sit and get cold.
I love love love tea and would be all over those flavors!!
I don’t drink black tea but green, white and herbal are all great!
I too recently discovered Zhena Gypsy tea. I think it is great. I started with the Superberry teas and liked every single variety. One day as I was in a coffee shop I saw Zhena Gypsy tea again. I love the fact that it is Certified Organic and Fairtrade. I love how drinking this tea helps me support principles I hold dear. I bought the chocolate chai rooibos and a sample pack at the coffee shop and have become officially hooked. I have studied aromatherapy and love how the tea has a scent that deeply increases its flavours…Thank you for creating a tea which is good quality and very tasty
I love chai and green teas! even in the summer, it’s nice to have some with lunch
How funny! I have the SAME Starbucks mug and I LOVE coffee. But..being of 100% English blood, and from two parents who drink at least 5 cups a day, I have to say, nothing beats a real cup of tea when you’re in the UK. Could it be the water? Hmmm..??? I like Celestial Seasonings Coconut Chai and some of their other flavors, all black teas. I like the sound of some of those flavors you have pictured.
I like berry flavored tea and want to try green tea. I hope you got the job!!
I am a total tea granny and don’t know if I can pick one favorite! I’m currently loving jasmine green tea. Would be so happy to win some new flavors
I love Tea and have been drinking it most of my life. I started with Jasmine Tea, which use to be my favorite at the Chinese restaurants and I also drank Oolong tea. Now I love the Peach flavor Oolong Tea on ice. I’m glad that I discovered Zhena Gypsy Tea. My favorite is the Coconut Chai Tea. About an hour ago, I just bought Lemon Jasmine and I’m looking forward to making myself a cup. I’m looking forward to trying Zhena Gypsy’s fruit teas in the BioDynamic label. Doesn’t it sound scrumptious?
I’m trying to like tea more. So far Green tea with ginger is my favorite! How’s the running going? Are you enjoying the brick workouts? I love brick workouts!
I love tea! My favorite at the moment is blossomberry white, from starbucks. But I LOVE the packaging and flavors of these, I want to try them!!
I love tea, but usually only if it is cold and iced down. I’ve just never been able to fully appreciate hot tea. Occasionally in the winter I’ll enjoy a hot tea, but that is about it. Now ice it down and I could drink tea all day long. I very rarely drink soda pop so whenever we eat out it is either water or tea for me.
Never been into different flavors, but those packages look so amazing I’m tempted to try some.
I LOVE herbal tea. I definitely prefer coffee but like you I try and stick to 1-2 cups a day and then turn to herbal tea. I think my favorite is classic chamomile but I have tried so many wonderful blends right from loose leaf to bagged tea.
now that im making kombucha, im going thru tea bags like mad! enter me!
These look so pretty! I am addicted to tea and drink at least 3 cups a day (even in summer). My favourite is green tea – must be the Japanese roots
.
I saw caramelized pear at Whole Foods this weekend…I wish I would have tossed it in my cart. It sounds amazing!
I’m like you — I drink coffee but try to limit myself, so the rest of the day it’s tea! (Which I also love!) I have 2 favorites — green jasmine and herbal mint.
I LOVE tea, mostly during the winter and during the summer I have iced. My favorite tea is JOY tea from tazo, they only have it during the month of December.
when i was little my mom would make me celestial seasonings sleepy time tea whenever i couldn’t sleep or was sick. to this day i still love it and drink it when i need a little TLC. i don’t drink a lot of tea during the summer. it’s just too hot here and i’m not a big fan of iced tea. but during the frigid florida winter night (hahaha) i love trying new flavors and cozying up with a good book.
I love tea and drink it almost daily! My favorite right now is TJ’s peppermint!
I’m a coffee drinker/lover myself.
I do drink tea though, mostly my favorite tea is iced but I’ve been drinking a cup of peppermint tea at night.
I’ve never seen these but they sure sound good!!
xoxo
I barely drink tea, but I have so many memories of my mom making it for me when I was younger. I love the pretty packaging on these!

I adore tea! It’s like candy to me. My favorite flavor is Good Earth pomegranate. Good stuff!
I loooove tea. I’m drinking some vanilla caramel tea right now, and its one of my favorites!
Zhena’s Ccoconut Chai is one of my favorites. Also I have discovered Teechino’s as a great coffee alternative. Lassens here in Ventura stocks many flavors.
I’m a fan of most teas, but lately I’ve been more of a coffee drinker in the mornings. These teas do look interesting.
i looove tea. i don’t really have a fave, b/c i switch it up so often. right now i’m drinking a lot of ginger and blueberry and decaf green.
Mmmm I love tea! I do believe I saw coconut chai somewhere in those lovely pics… that sounds unbelievable! I’ve been hooked on a Teavana Youthberry tea and red rooibos blend lately. I may not be able to pronounce it, but it sure is darn good!

I am definitely a tea junkie myself. I am big on the Yogi teas…..they are a little pricey but oh so good
what a way to wake up in the morning.
(check out my giveaway as well….
)
When I was in montreal I came across a store called Kusmi Tea that sells loose leaf Russian style teas. I was so excited because I love tea!! I bought some Prince Wladimir tea that is basically black tea with citrus, vanilla, and spices. Apparently it was created in the 1800s
