Ride Along

Today has been my rest and recovery day and I have been taking full advantage of doing nothing all day long.  It has been great!

This morning we tried two “new to us” products.

First this oatmeal:

Not bad but I really prefer the nuttiness of steel-cut oats.

And we tried this:

Better than peanut butter but not as good as almond butter.  But I sooooo love almond butter so the competition is quite fierce :)

Then I decided to go on a ride along with Daley Dog Walking aka Bill.  Fun times with the dogs today!

He walked Sophie and then she and Pepsi hung out:

And then Bill had a run with Lola on the beach.  She does not get along with other dogs so Pepsi and I soaked up the beach by ourselves.

Perfect beach weather today!

Hope you are having a great Friday evening where ever you are.

We are off to have dinner with some friends.

Thanks for reading and commenting-it makes my day :)

  1. I am such an oatmeal snob now and must have my steel cut oats too. I also recently discovered that not all natural PBs are created equally and some are really terrible (ahem Smuckers). Hope you have a great evening!

  2. I love sunflower seed butter. PB is my favorite though! What are you thinking?

  3. I like almond butter best, too. Mmmm. Almond butter. Glahglahglahgh. /homer

Sunny day! Maybe June gloom has gone away?

  4. Mmmm I totally prefer steel-cut oats as well! I believe they are a lot more healthier for you.

I am glad to hear you liked this butter…but I agree nothing compares to almond butter!

What a beautiful day! Pepsi must love the beach? I know Hudson loves to eat the sand off his ball :| Not so good the next day ;)

    XXOO

  5. Oh those beach photos made me smile. I just love being at the ocean- I’m so jealous to see them! I hope you have a lovely time tonight and the rest of the weekend! And I need to try sunflower seed butter, I’ve seen it around but never tried it!

  6. So, did you mix almond butter and the oats? hmmm. The beach photos look great and rest is something that I really I need.

  7. So jealous of your day!

  8. I like the Silver Palate brand of oats. I consider rolled oats and steel cut to be 2 different foods anyway – and I love both!
    :D

  9. I have been intrigued by sunflower seed butter, but it just doesn’t sound too good.

  10. I wasn’t impressed with sunflower butter either, I’ll take peanut or almond anyday over it! Love the pictures!

  11. I like sunflower seed butter… it’s got that savory factor that is awesome when you’re looking for a nut butter fix, but not something super sweet…

  12. I have not tried sunflower butter, but I hear it is good! I am with you….love almond butter!

  13. I’m going to the beach today and I can’t wait to see the ocean and the sand, you made me excited for it! (Even though I see it basically every week haha) I have to try sunflower seed butter!! I like pb more than almond butter, but I’m assuming it will be somewhere in the middle of the 2, like it was for you. Have a wonderful weekend!!

  14. Ahhh! I’m so behind on your posts! I think Pepsi wants a bowl of oats too!

  15. I tried sunflower butter for the first time not so long ago and LOVED it! Definitely a good PB replacement.

Hope you have a fun weekend!

  16. Great beach pics! I agree, no other oats can compare to steel cut! That sunflower seed butter sounds good. I wonder if I could make it at home, I’ve got a huge bag of sunflower seeds! ;)

  17. i picked up that oatmeal once solely b/c it’s manufactured in the tiny town i grew up in in NJ. it was just okay, i agree, but i was so excited!

  18. Jealous of your beach fun!! I wish I could have the mountains and the beach!

  19. I had a rest day too…but looking back, it was pretty jam-packed.
I am due for a brisk run, just as soon as I can move my quads!

love beach pics, and it looks like Bill’s new biz is taking off. that is awesome.
