Bill and I take our sleep very seriously.
There are so many benefits of sleeping-especially sleeping 8 hours a night.
- Keeps you young by stimulating your Human Growth Production.
- It also strengthens your immune system
- And restores your nervous system
I love my bed
Truthfully I would prefer to not get out of it on some days.
And you, do you feel like you get enough sleep?
I definitely make it a priority. Sleep is sacred to me.
On to some eats!
Last night we had a wonderful bowl of veggies, sunflower seeds, raisins, pesto and pasta:
Thankfully I have leftovers for lunch-can’t wait for lunch time!
On to my Giveaway!
In this post I mentioned my love of socks-specifically these socks:
Seriously, these are the best socks for running and riding. They do not slip into your shoe and they are thick enough without taking up room and thin enough to not make your feet sweat.
They are also super cute!
I wanted to share my sock love with you so I have decided to giveaway two pairs of my favorite socks.
I like to share with my blog readers
Here are the two pairs of socks I am giving away:
- All you have to do is comment on this post. (Of course you can always add me to your blog roll
)
I will pick a winner Friday morning.
Have a great Hump Day lovelies!

That pasta looks delicious – looks like it would be good either hot or cold.
As for sleep – if I don’t get 7 hours I’m a bear. I’d like 8 but that rarely happens with 2 little ones in the house!
i’m cursed by insomnia! have been my entire life. i fall asleep quickly but almost always wake up after a few hours and if there’s anything weighing on my mind, it’s impossible for me to shut off the brain and fall back asleep. i’m lucky if i get five hours a night. not fun!
I know what you mean about the perfect sock. It can completely ruin a workout if the socks move or rub. It can ruin a perfectly good day of working with first graders too! Love the smiley socks! Thanks for this fun, informational, inspirational site. I am almost 42, teach, love healthy food, and still battle (although am getting better) bouts of disordered eating. Sites like yours keep me going down the path of total recovery!
I don’t think I’ll be lucky enough to win another one of your giveaways, but I DO love those socks!
Hi Kalli!!
I’m with you on the sleep issue… don’t mess with my sleep!!
I have never tried those socks, currently I am in love with Balega for running but mine seem to be a bit thick and I’d love to try some thinner ones for summer. I’d LOVE to try these.. pick me pick me pick me…
Happy Hump Day!!
xoxo
I love sleep and sleep so well that in the beginning of my marriage, my husband would actually put his head on my chest to make sure I was actually breathing!
Love the sox – count me in! I’ll add you to my blogroll too!
I love my sleep. I got so little in college. I am not a great sleeper. I aim for 8 hrs, usually get at least 7 hrs a night.
It’s funny I was thinking about this just yesterday. We had a new employee, young woman, who I was introduced to. First words out of her mouth: “wow, you look young, are you still in school? A student?”
Boy that made my day, week, and month…on the way home I was thinking: lotsa veggies and fruit, sunscreen, and sleep….that’s the ticket.
I think I would have happier feet if they had those smiley face sockies on — right now!
And, yes. Sleep is sacred. We are lucky enough to have a little boy that loves to sleep, too. I would go crazy otherwise. LOL
oh i DEF need my sleep!!! I dont get enough in college
i can tell a HUGE difference when i get a good nights sleep and when i dont
I take sleep seriously. Getting enough is not always practical due to demands of daily life. I wish I could stick with a relaxing routine before bed to get prepared for sleep but some times I have to be over-active before bedtime.
I use meditation to quiet a busy mind when I can.
I believe sleep is crucial to good health – crucial!
And how awesome is it that I’ve been thinking of giving running a try and have been wondering which socks are best!! Thanks for the giveaway!!!
oh sleep, sweet sweet sleep. I don’t get to bed early enough…I think JJ is the biggest factor. But I try my best. I get 6-7 hours a day and catch up on the weekends.
How can I put lil dude to bed at 9:30 and go to bed at 10?
it’s insane!
But during the weekends…ahhhh I love my bed too! and JJ wakes up earlier when I am home! WHY OH WHY?
SOCKS??? I am way linking your give away today! can’t wait! sign me up!
How right you are about sleep! Sadly, I do not get the 7-8 hours that my body needs. It’s usually about 6.5 in order to get up for my early morning workouts.
Cool socks!
Happy Hump Day!
Melissa
Sleep – well I could do better! With four kiddos though me time often doesn’t come until after they are in bed. I do try to get my head to the pillow by 10 p.m. Ideally, I shoot for 7 hours. I start my day at 5 a.m.
Would love some new socks . . . thanks for posting the giveaway!
Oh, and your pasta photo just inspired me! Wednesday is pasta day at our house and I think I am going to make a cilantro pesto for dinner! Have you ever tried that? Basil is great too but not in season right now! Cilantro is cheaper right now too!
Happy day!
I’m always looking for the perfect sport sock and would love to try these. You are now also on my blogroll.
i love my sleep and i need alot so yes i value my sleep and make sure i get enough! if i don’t, you know it! xxx
I’m a terrible sleeper. I usually require 6 – 7 hours per night. 8 hrs typically only happens if on vacation or maybe once a month. My mind never seems to be able to settle even though the body says “STOP!”.
Such cute socks. I have a pair for every occasion.
I hate it when socks slip into your shoe. I would love to try your favorite socks…thx
I JUST found your blog (how convenient, right? haha) and I am contemplating signing up for my first 5k race in two years and I’m SO nervous.
Oh, and all my socks are not awesome, or fall down underneath my ankles. Bad news.
You’re already on my blogroll
and yes, I love my sleep and always make it a priority in my day!
I am always on the look out for good socks that don’t slip around in my shoes!
I love sleep but I only need 6-7 hours. Maybe I need more but I’ve adjusted thanks to Maya’s sleeping schedule?
I think I may sleep TOO much! Sometimes I worry about how Ill function when Im not a student & I have to get up at 5 like the rest of the world. Caffeine I guess!
I think I could definitely use a bit more sleep lately! I make sure that I get at least 7, but I feel so much better with 8!
Your dinner from last night? Awesome!
I get between 7 and 8 hours most night. Tonight I have a hockey game from 10-11:30 with a 20 minute commute home. So I’ll be lucky to be showered and in bed by 12:30am with my alarm going off at 5:30am — not cool. We’re usually in bed between 9:30 and 10 and up between 5:30 and 5:45am. It works because I only work 4 days a week and I can catch up on the weekends. I don’t know how people survive on much less, though!

Sleep is very important to me. I get at least 7 hours of sleep every night….one more would be perfect…but still I usually wake up full of energy. The give-a-ways are fun!
I completely agree with you on the importance of sleep. It is essential to get enough! I prize my sleeping and wish I did more of it!
Your dinner looks delicious. You always make such inventive and tasty pasta and salad meals! I’m so into the idea of pesto and raisins together!!
I need a ton of sleep. I function best on 10+ hours. With 3 little girls, I rarely get that. But I am usually in bed by 10 and up around 7. So not too bad!
And I love those socks! Totally wouldn’t mind having a pair.
You are already in my blogroll!
I have so many sleep issues it’s unrealistic. Let’s not talk about it.
That pasta looks fab and I love those socks. They would SO come in handy during a long run!
I definitely take my sleep very seriously. Unfortunately, I suffer from bouts of insomnia.
I want to win some running socks!
great giveaway! I also love your dinner–raisins, sunflower seeds, and pasta. Dont think I would have thought about that but can totally see how it works.
Oh Kalli where do I begin….want the socks, want the socks, want the socks…..will now dream in my sleep of wanting the socks, wanting the socks, wanting the socks….will sip my wine and chew my food, thinkin about the socks, oh sweet socks, wanting the socks……be running my many miles, imagining my footsies surrounded by socks, surrounded by socks, oh how i want the socks!
So did I win, did I win…do i get to wear them on my 50 miler in two weeks, do I, do I, do I ?
I can never find good socks, these sound perfect!
Just woke up from a good night’s sleep!
I’d love to win those great socks!
Yum I love pesto!! I try to get adequate sleep but sometimes school gets in the way. I napped for so long yesterday trying to play catch up, then went to bed a little earlier than usual.
Hopefully this weekend I’ll get back to normal sleeping.
Awesome giveaway!
Sleep is one of my favourite hobbies though I didn’t get enough last night. What’s there not to love about sleep?
That pesto looks so scrumptious! Especially with all those veggies. Mmmm.
I’d love to win those socks. (Insert cheeky grin)
Sleep is uber important to me. I must get my eight hours it isn’t pretty!
I would love to try these socks. Also, loving your blog. It is nice to read one from someone who is in my age range!
Sleep is very important, though I’m finding I need less since upping my cardio and going heavy raw because I’m sleeping better.
The pesto looks fabulous!
Thanks for the opportunity to win the socks, they’d be awesome as I get more into spring running and train for races!
sleep is so important and I don’t get nearly enough
I can totally tell, actually last night I was so pooped I went to bed at 9 and got a full 8 hours and it felt glorious!! I need to make it a priority, but there just never seems to be enough time! oooh, I need new socks desperately, as much as I love my holy socks . . lol Have a good week!
I have a terrible time getting enough sleep. My schedule is really different than my husband’s and he expects me to stay up all night, despite me talking to him about it. I am going to log my sleep this month and see how bad it really is.
These are cute socks! Just found your blog and I love it!
my socks are always slipping! i need them!
