Greek Eats and a Bike Race

I am sitting in bed with a sunburn and exhausted-but it was a GREAT day :)

Bill and I headed down to Los Angeles so he could race in the LA Circuit Race.

Weather wise it could not have been better.  Clear blue sky’s and temps in the 80′s-you got to love that!

We drove the coast route-taking the 1 through Malibu:

Can’t get much better than this.  Bill and I still pinch ourselves that we live here :)

Once we got to the race, Bill got ready:

And then he lined up with the rest of the guys:

And they raced:

While he was racing I ran into these guys:

Trevor, Khrystle, and Sade

Trevor ended up getting first in his race!

And I ran into these guys:

Sara and John

Bill had a good race and was able to comfortably finish with the pack.

Afterwards, we decided we would stop at our very favorite Greek Restaurant in Malibu:

We started with a Kendall Jackson Chardonnay for me and a Mythos Greek Beer for Bill:

I got my usual favorite-the Greek Californian Salad:

Seriously this is the best greek salad ever.  It is a traditional greek salad but with added avocado and sun-dried tomatoes.

Today I had them add some grilled shrimp too-so good:

Well  bloggy friends,  I so hope you had a great weekend too.

The week is about to start up again but I only have to work until Thursday and then I am off for Spring Break-YAY

Anyone else taking Spring Break off?

Have a great night and thanks for reading.

xoxo

Congrats to Bill on the race! No better way to celebrate other than with Greek food. It has been far too long since I’ve had any. That salad looks delicious.

Brilliant looking salad and beer! I love Greek salads but hate raw tomatoes (weird, I know) so I love them with sundried tomatoes in them.

  10. What a great race!

I don’t get Spring Break, per say, but the golf club that I work for closes for 5 day to do maintenance on the course and I get that week off, it isn’t for a couple more weeks, though.

  11. Gosh this looks like the perfect day! I love how outdoorsy you and Bill are! SO much fun to bike and eat delicious greek food. I think your salad just inspired my lunch!!

  14. Jennifer says:

Looks like such a beautiful day. So jealous. We are in for a record rainy March here.

  15. What a FUN day! Racing, good food, friends…it doesn’t get better. :D

The salad looks so delicious! I always forget about adding shrimp to salads like that—and sundried tomatoes sound like the perfect addition. Yummy! :D

  19. Robyn says:

What a gorgeous day! That salad looked yummmmy.

  20. You had a great weekend! I really would be pinching myself if I lived in such a great area.

As far as your question about the Gym in a Bag, I do think it could get someone in shape. I would totally use it with a client if they had the right space for it.

  21. C. says:

That salad looks YUMMY! And Spring Break? No…I WISH! (Well, I’m unemployed, so technically I could take one…if I had the money, that is!)

  22. Sounds like you had a great weekend! Congrats to Bill for finishing the race, and for looking sexy in that biker outfit :) My parents and I used to go on long bike rides when I was a kid, and in fact my parents still go biking a lot in the summer. The views here in Ohio obviously don’t compare with California though.

The food looks great. I LOVE shrimp on salads!! Shrimp and scallops are my two favorite salad proteins.

  23. WOO HOOO Congrats on the race! Your hubby is so cute ;)

I am a sucker for sunny weather and would have loved every minute of it. I hope your burn gets better ;)

I hope you have a wonderful spring break! I am “off” everyday which is nice!

    Have an amazing day!

  26. Cindy says:

Sorry Kalli, just catching up here! Just when I think I’ve got them all!

what a great DAY!!! I love the things you do!

    Spring break??? what’s that?
    haha!

the best thing about Spring Break is that my Teenager is out of school and I get some quality time with him finally!

    but BREAK?
not so much. Mr. Hungry Teen needs food!
