Bill and I had a lovely pasta dish last night.
Have you noticed that I tend to rotate between pasta and salad throughout the week? Sorry if I bore you with my lack of variety
Do you have two types of meals that you rotate through a lot?
We decided to give this pasta a shot:
Do you use this pasta? Do you think it is better for you than others or not?
While the pasta was cooking, I steamed up carrots, broccoli, snow peas, and spinach.
Once the pasta was done and drained, I put it back into the pot and mixed in some crushed garlic, the steamed veggies, a can of tuna, and this delicious find:
Before serving I added some leftover hummus and a bit of shredded parmesan cheese:
After my tough workout yesterday with Khrystle and Bill’s tough bike ride last night, the pasta really hit the spot
Thank goodness we have it for lunch today too. Don’t you love leftovers?
I always try to make extra at dinner so we have lunch for the next day.
Do you do that too?
Today is the last day to enter my giveaway for a super cute thermal hoodie. Any comment you leave on the original post or this post today will count as an entry.
The contest ends tonight at 8pm and I will pick a winner tomorrow.
Hopefully if you win you will be wearing your hoodie next week!
Happy Hump Day

I made pasta last night too – very similar to yours but with courgette & turkey sausage in it too. I love having leftovers but only had enough for 1 today so I let the hubby take it!
I generally use any type of whole wheat pasta – I like the bite of it and think it reheats way better than white flour pasta.
For lunch I find that I regularly rotate between veggie burgers and salads!! I just can’t get enough of Morning Star’s Black Bean burgers. Your meals never bore me, you always have such inspiring concoctions
Thanks for stopping by my blog! I got in to all of the ones that I applied to, UM, NSU (both in South Florida) and Penn State (I am still waiting on one more). Now, I just have to decide where to go!!
I have such a crush on pesto!
I made pasta last night too… I tried that Fettucini Alfredo recipe that is in this months Runner’s World magazine by Rocco DiSpirito and it is YUM-O!!
and for the hoodie giveaway I say this:
Pick me Pick me Pick me!!
xoxo
ooooh i was eyeing that recipe the other day! looks great…..

Oh that looks good! I try to stay away from pasta but once in awhile I’ll cook it up.
girl it doesnt bother me at all! i love reading about PASTA! its SO freaking GOOOOD
Yum yum yum. I love the rotation of pasta and salad for your weeknight dinners. You always have such variety in them and I love seeing the combos you toss together! Sun dried tomato pesto must be the best sauce. I love basil pesto and have never tried any other variation so I’d love to give this a go!
Making enough food for leftovers is a great idea. You can put just about anything on top of a salad or in a sandwich, so I love doing that!
Great job on your workout yesterday! Have a happy Wednesday!!
i’m glad that pesto was good! i’ll look for it next time i’m in a fresh and easy.
i wanna win that hoodie!!!
I love sundried tomato pesto…Trader Joe’s has a great version too in case you want to check it out.
I can’t eat pasta so I am glad that I can at least look at yours.
I love that kind of pasta! Multigrain is my favorite, but for Mike I buy the Ronzoni smart pasta…it’s all he’ll eat, lol! That pesto sounds delicious!
I’ve seen that pasta but have yet to try it. Not a big pasta eater only when trying out a new recipe.
My husband loves leftovers but I prefer fresh.
You definitely do not bore me with your food. I wish you were making me dinner. We have a very kid friendly menu here and I miss eating “real” food.
Oh, and I would totally look cute in that hoodie … just saying!
Pasta has to the easiest and most delicious dinner around! I love it
I also really love sundried tomatoes and really think I could benefit from trying this pesto.
I agree with Tonia – we would all love you to make us dinner!
XXOO
YUM that looks great, thats a good brand of whole wheat pasta for sure, and I love the sundried tomato pesto you used!! YES I love leftovers
That looks very good. Pretty much the only time I have pasta is while eating out, but would love to try that pesto with spiralized veggies!
I always plan for leftovers too, packing then directly in single serving containers for quick work lunch grabbing.
We totally make a TON of food so we can eat leftovers. We usually make enough for 8! We have a lot of dishes we rotate through
I wanted to try that pasta, but I think it has egg in it.
yes just checked the ingredients-egg whites!
Barilla plus is very good stuff!
I rotate the same breakfasts a lot. Oatmeal, protein pancakes, or bagels. I must bore my readers LOL!
I want to win that hoodie! It’s adorable!
I like anything with pasta. I never tried it with hummus though. I recently switched to whole wheat and love it. Sometimes my body just craves pasta even though I do try to limit it to a few times a month. We usually rotate between grilled fish or chicken.
I love leftovers for lunch or the next dinner…such a time saver.
Missed the giveaway, but that’s okay
I love the Barilla Plus — the added protein and omega 3′s are pluses and it just seems less dense than other whole wheat pastas. For that reason, I recommend Barilla and Ronzoni to patients making the switch to whole wheat.
Thanks so much for your comment yesterday on my weight – everyone was so supportive. I really appreciate it!!!
Hi there! Thanks for stopping by my blog. We definitely get into a rut sometimes… hello TACOS! I like leftovers that I can create into new dishes…. ex. tacos become a Mexican salad.
For some reason my hubby isn’t that big into pasta, meanwhile I could eat it all day. Yum!
I always try to make extra dinner, and will usually just do a big pile of roasted veggies! That bowl looks so good though! I’m not much of a pasta fan, but sun dried tomato pesto sounds amazing!
Pasta could never ever bore me. It speaks to my soul.
This version looks awesome! So much flavor with ingredients I always have on hand = perfect!
I’m such a fan of leftovers. Eating them is my favorite part of the week.
I love leftovers, because it makes dinner or lunch the next few days easy.
I basically LIVE on leftovers! Nothing’s nicer than that
I have tried that pasta before, and I do like it. I love that it’s multi-whole grain, and that it provides ALA omega-3, that’s awesome. Nick and I are both Italian, yet we never eat pasta. Not for any particular reason other than neither of us are huge fans. We’d prefer eggs or pizza (two foods we eat a lot!). We also eat a lot of rice.
Regarding your question about the house, it’s coming along. They took our offer and we had the inspection today. It went ok…not perfect (but is any inspection perfect, really??). I’m glad we are getting closer to moving in (APril 23rd)!!
how exciting for you
