In Gear

This time of year I always start to complain about my upper body.

The complaints go something like this:

  • I hate my arms they are too flabby.
  • I can’t wear that tank top I look awful in it.
  • I need to join a gym and staring lifting weights.
  • I should start doing push ups and pull ups.

By this time, Bill starts rolling his eyes and tends to leave the room.

So this morning I thought I should get my “behind” in gear.

I ran to the park.

Did two sets up push ups and sit ups.

While I ran home from the park, I alternated walking lunges with squats.

Now I just have to keep this up.

I will try for once a week for a few weeks and then move on to twice a week.

Wish me luck! Hee hee :) .

Wish I could stay home tonight and read my new magazine:

But I have a PTO meeting to get to.

What are you up to tonight?  Resting or out and about?

What magazines do you like to read?

Working out outside is so nice this time of year…the weather is really gorgeous so that always motivates me to keep it up! Your routine sounds amazing! :)

I added some strength training to my workouts last week, I’m hoping to do like you are and aim for once a week for a few weeks then add some more.

I’m home tonight, getting ready for The Biggest Loser, I love that show!!

As for magazines, it’s an addiction for me… Runner’s World, Running Times, Fitness, Women’s Health to name a few!

    xoxo

tonight I am working on MY Flab-o lanch and knitting and deciding what I am going to do with my day off.

I love me some magazines too. Have a great night Kalli!

Ya know, Biggest Loser. I can watch a 2 hour show in 40 minutes.

Magazines: Vegetarian Times, VegNews are my subscriptions.

Sometimes like reading Weight Watchers mag, Runner’s World, occasionally Shape or Self, but they are too much into the beauty/makeup thing for me.

real simple is one of my faves. i also love body + soul.

  6. I love Real Simple! I am such a cardio girl! I have always had strong legs from running and biking, but I really need to work on my upper body!

I love Real Simple! Such a good magazine…the recipes are always so tasty.

I am the worst at remembering to do upper body exercises. I always forget, since it isn’t crucial for runners to have strong arms. But I have to remember that it’s all about balance… Good for you for getting your butt in gear! Maybe now mine will start to listen…

I will be springing into gear as of March 27th. I plan to take full advantage of the 2 week Spring break (I’m on school work schedule) to launch into fab-u-licious physical and mental health and I can’t wait.

Since this will be the beginning after years of hiatus, I plan to start on my beach cruiser so it feels more like kids play. The weather just better hold up.

  9. I’ve been thinking the exact same thing about my arms, so I’ve upped my push-ups and my yoga.

As far as magazines go, I have way to many sitting around my house that I never get around to reading.

  11. I’d like to firm up my arms more, thinking I need to expand my Bowflex routine and get more into yoga.

  12. I am resting. I’m a 60 year old trapped in a 26 year old body.

My favorite magazine of late is Vegetarian Times. Great recipes! (I’m not a vegetarian btw).
