Rained Out

Today was supposed to be my first workout with Khrystle.

But we got rained out:

I kind of knew this would happen because it started raining at about 10 am this morning and never let up.

This is very abnormal for Southern California…….enough rain already!

So instead of my “torture” session, I came home and did a 20 minute power vinyasa flow class from Yoga Download.

Hello mat:

I love yoga.  Even twenty minutes of it sets me straight.  I feel so connected to my movements when I practice.  It just makes me feel good!

Now I am sitting in front of the fire waiting to open this gem with my husband:

Joanne from Older/Better suggested this so I can’t wait to try it.

Pepsi is waiting on dinner:

She lives to eat.  Hmmmm she is very much like her mother!

What workout makes you feel most connected to yourself?

For me it is yoga, then cycling, and then running……

  1. ohhhhhh, sorry it rained…I think it’s going to hit here any minute now…been DARK for hours.

    yoga is the best…. certainly the best for just checking in with your body and mind! love it.

    running is my challenge, and i love it…In a perfect world I would hit some ice and skate each and every day. that is my first love.

    nice bottle of wine! love the label!

  4. I know I’m the minority here but I just do not enjoy Yoga. I do not get it at all. For me Cycling would be my first choice, I absolutely love it and running would be a close second!

  5. Running and cycling are very different for me. I love running because I just turn my mind off and do my thing (which can be absolutely wonderful) and cycling is what I turn to when I need to think things out. I’ve done some of my very best thinking (and talking and singing) on long bike rides!

  6. Kalli, I enjoyed the same kind of evening. I drug my dog out in the rain for a short walk then had some veggies and spinach pasta with my Pollo Rosso wine for TJs.

    I prefer running for that total feeling of satisfaction from a workout. Cycling I enjoy for the same reason as Madeline (above). I do a lot of thinking while out on the bike. I feel most connected to myself when I do a sport that requires some coordination like snowboarding or climbing. It makes me focus and I come back completely relaxed.

  7. I did a yoga download workout yesterday too! Sometimes yoga makes me feel more connected. But running makes me feel the most connected.

  8. I love yoga. I never though tI would get into it, because I’m an energy girl with little patience, but the more I do it the more I realize that I NEED to do yoga in order to calm down and relax. It’s just so good for me, and I know it. I do yoga download, like you. I have yet to find a yoga session I don’t like. Currently I am into the yoga fitness 45 minute video. It’s so fun, and relaxing, and powerful at the same time. I also enjoy running, but only sometimes (my ankles are weak and don’t like i when I run..).

  9. Bummer that you got rained out. But it looks like you made up for it! I would love to get back into yoga. It makes me feel so relaxed but energized at the same time. Trail running or hiking makes me feel centered or connected. Just getting out there and exploring!

    So how was the wine??

  10. I love Body Attack, but running makes me feel more connected to myself.

  11. I like a mobility warm-up routine followed by an hour on the bike then some explosive weight lifting of barbells and kettlebells.

    Doesn’t get to be most days because of the amount of time required but when it does it’s a good day!

  12. We’ve been getting tons of rain here too, I keep telling myself we need it! :-) Can’t go wrong with good wine in front of the fireplace. I am enjoying yoga more, but really feel connected after a run or skate, gives me an opportunity to clear my mind, blow off stress and listen to music.

  13. This rain is pretty nuts! So nice and needed but kind of irritating at the same time.

    I definitely love yoga, even just for 30 minutes a day.

    I bought my Paige Jeans at Bloomingdales. They have the best selection I’ve seen plus they are pretty quick with the alterations.

  14. Running makes me connect the most. As my runs get longer, I’d really like to disconnect ;)
