I Was Flying

This morning I woke up ready to tackle my run.

I decided (unfortunately) I cannot take Pepsi with me anymore and will just have to walk her when I get done with my run.  A bit more time-consuming but I really don’t think we can run together anymore .

Breaks my heart.

So off I went into the darkness alone.  Just me and my runmeter.

Here are my stats:

Not so good.  I thought I was flying!

Thank goodness I am meeting up with Khrystle tomorrow.  She is a certified Life Style Coach and Personal Fitness Trainer and has offered her services to me.  Our goal is to get me to run faster by my 5K on March 7 and my 10K on March 20.

I need help!  I am scared though…….I will let you know how it goes.

After my run and walk to work, I had the usual:

Green monster and vegan energy bar:

Tea to warm up after the green monster:

Taught two classes then had my homemade raw, vegan energy bar (these are the best):

Taught another two classes and had lunch (leftover salmon salad, apple, and cracker):

Finished the day a few hours later with this snack (pita, almond butter, and organic jelly):

Walked home.

Sitting here with this girl:

About to cook dinner with Bill and call it a night.

I LOVED reading all of your comments on which colleges you went to.  We are quite an eclectic group of people!

Hope you are having a great Tuesday!

  1. Awww, so sad that Pepsi’s going to have to sit out on your runs! Your meals look great as usual. I love salmon salads, and I probably have some form of almond butter and jelly everyday!
    Have a great night!

I cannot wait to hear how your ‘training’ goes! I have been trying to shave some time off my 5k time forever and it just wont seem to budge… I am DETERMINED to do a 5k in under 30 min this year!

    Have a great evening!!
    xoxo

  3. I would like to get faster too! Please share your trainers tips. Although, I already know she’s gonna say to do speedwork. I hate speedwork. Thus, I never get faster.

Don’t feel bad ladies…(B, you too)
I can run a 5K in 40 minutes. Woo hoo…talk about running with a walker.

I COULD up the speed on the TM but I also need to be able to inhale oxygen too.

    :)

you guys SERIOUSLY ROCK and I can’t wait to see how your training goes because I am seriously taking NOTES!

I have my long run in the morning. (maybe I should try running downhill???)

sorry you can’t take Pepsi running with you. I have a family friend that has a lab JUST LIKE PEPSI..but she is old and hanging in there…my friend loves her dog like it seems to me you do Pepsi…and Maddie (her puppy) is so happy but can’t do much anymore and it breaks her mama’s heart.

don’t know why I told you about her but seeing Pepsi reminds me of my friend and Maddie.

    :)

    xo

  5. That’s so exciting that Khrystie is going to help you get fast for your 5k! It always helps to have some personal guidance.

Great run! Don’t push it, just enjoy it. Speed will happen and it comes with persaverance. Sometimes if you want to be fast too quickly, you may get hurt. Just relax, make sure your form is correct, if you can do a sprint here and there, that’s good speed work.

Too bad Pepsi can’t go with you any more. Shane is with me on my runs. I’m just wondering how far to take him. His longest with me to date is 10 miles. Then he STILL wanted to play ball in the yard when we got home. Guess that means he can go for more.

  7. Heather says:

Life style coach? That sounds really interesting!! Can’t wait to hear how your speed-increasing session goes :) Oh and I LOVE that travel mug!!

  8. Great run!

I have a girlfriend whose mom’s is a life coach and I don’t really understand the concept.

I feel the same way about Sadie.. when I can’t take care with me for a seriouse walk (i don’t run.. yet?!).. she is an english setter and got forbid we see a bird.. than all bets are off lol

  9. Very exciting about the training, that sounds awesome! Are you going to be doing the life coaching as well? That is one of those things I have always wanted to learn more about. I don’t really understand the purpose.

  10. Impressive run! I’m hoping to get back into running with hubby when weather improves and need to check out that app. Sadly, my chihuahua would not be able to keep up with me :-)

And I need to try that vegan bar recipe, looks great for summer rides and hikes. Thanks!

So sorry you can’t take Pepsi with you..is he/she too old to run? I remember when our dog got old, it was so hard to watch.

I am loving the vegan energy bars. What a great snack!

  14. Christy says:

Good job on your run! Do you ever do interval sprints or HIIT runs? Those are great to help your 5K time. Let me know if you need any ideas for interval or HIIT runs :)

  15. Awww poor Pepsi!

I eat these vegan protein bars all day long. Why can’t I get enough of them?! I ran out of Agave yesterday and made some with a date paste I made up! Pretty good :)
