Good Eats

My first good eats of the day consisted of making Averi’s Raw Vegan Energy Bars.  THESE ARE GOOD.  Nuff said.

Started with the basics (a banana):

Added the deliciousness (oats, coconut, almond butter, vegan chocolate chips, dried cranberries, agave, and coconut oil):

Pressed into a 8×8 pan and froze for an hour:

Sooooo good. Make them you won’t be sorry!

Then Bill and I met up with my sister and her hubby at this wonderful place:

Started with this amazing bottle of wine:

And this hummus appetizer:

Everything at Mary’s is amazing.  This was my sister’s hubby (Ken) first time and I think he loved it.

Bill and Ken got the sun-dried tomato fettuccine:

I got the Syrian wrap:

My sis got this amazing Thai curry dinner which I think I ate about 1/2 of as well as my dinner (must get this next time):

Seriously this was the best!

Here are the boys:

And the girls:

And the couples:

Let’s not forget dessert.  You cannot go to Mary’s without trying the dessert.  It is all raw!

Our smoothies:

Raw chocolate ice cream:

Raw chocolate cake:

I am about to give birth to a food baby!

It was worth it though.  We had such a great time.  Thanks Sis and Ken for a fun evening!

Hope you had a great Saturday night too!

Do you have a favorite restaurant you love to go to?

  1. That hummus platter looks out of this world! My favorite restaurant in Phoenix would probably have to be the Daily Dose because it makes the best veggie burger I have ever put in my mouth. Heavenly.

  2. What a fun night out with friends! :D

There’s this tiny little Italian restaurant that I *adore*. They make the best chicken parmesan, and I love finishing my meal with their cappacino. It’s been way too long since I’ve gone.

  3. Wow! That place looks amazing. I have two faves in Columbus. One is Haiku, my favorite sushi place. Great sushi and great atmosphere. The second is North Star Cafe. They use all local and organic ingredients for their food. So yummy!!

  4. I’ve been thinking about making that recipe of Averie’s. And as soon as I have some coconut oil on hand I will.

I don’t think I have a favorite restaurant. Maybe Kaskaval, an adorable yet crowded tapas/wine bar in my neighborhood.

  5. Wow so delicious! What’s in the syrian wrap?
I don’t think I can pick a favorite restaurant, so so many to love!
Now I really want to try Averie’s raw energy bars. I’ve got to experiment more with raw foods, they always intrigue me! Have a nice Sunday!

  6. Oh my, everything looks delicious!

I have a few favorite places but lately, I haven’t been venturing farther than the Whole Foods Salad bar!

  7. Okay, those energy bars looked SOOO good, I had to make them. Searched her website for the recipe. (didn’t see coconut oil in it? Mine doesn’t have it.) Got home from a morning walk, didn’t even shower…only took 5-10 mins to mix them up – they’re in the freezer right now.

  8. oh my – all that food looks GREAT! And I love those bars you made :)

  9. The food looks amazing!!

I’ve been making YOUR energy bars and they are perfect. So fast and easy and I love being able to control what goes into them!!

  15. Such pretty smoothies! And other lovely yumminess, too. I wonder if you can get a “food baby” just from looking! ;-)

  16. Mary’s looks like a great restaurant experience. Next time you guys are in Chicago, check out Karyn’s. It is a really great raw vegan restaurant. Keep on keeping fit. Your site is very inspiring!
