Something Missing

We rarely eat meat of any kind but for some reason I was craving salmon.  While I was doing the weekly grocery shopping at good ol TJ’s I picked up a Cajun spiced salmon and knew I had to cook it up for dinner.

It turned out sooooo good.  Granted it is not wild salmon which would explain why it was so buttery tasting but sometimes you just have to eat what you are craving.

So good! Especially on a big salad with hummus.

Before I made dinner though I did something I have not done in ions-YOGA.  I think Averie at Love Veggies and Yoga has inspired me!  Granted it was just 25 minutes of Hatha Yoga from Yoga Download but it was amazing.  I forgot how much I LOVE it.  Thank you Averie for inspiring me to get my Yoga mat out.

Today I finally woke up feeling a bit like my old self.

Started with a warm cup of coffee and computer time:

And then felt energetic enough to go for a run!  It had been way toooo long.

I felt pretty decent though Pepsi was not too spry.  Sometimes she seems like a young girl and other times she seems like an old girl.  Today I was running with “old girl.”  Makes me sad.

Came home.

Got ready for work.

Walked to work with my lovely ladies, Debbie and Julie.

Drank my green monster and ate my fiber cake:

The rest of the day went by in a blur.  Sometimes teaching is just one crazy episode of action after another.

And now, I am sitting here in my living room relaxing and getting ready to make something to eat.  I think lots of grilled veggies are on the agenda tonight.

After I completed my short yoga session I mentioned above, I realized it was something I had been missing from my daily routine.  I am going to try to do a few yoga practices each week again.

Is there something you feel is missing that you would like to reintroduce back into your routine?

  1. I have that same coffee cup!! But why do you have a B on yours?? I think I got it at Anthropologie??

That salmon looks pretty tasty too!

Glad you were feeling better today and good job on the Yoga and the run!!

    Have a great evening!!
    xoxo

  2. I love salmon! Off topic….what do you teach?

  3. I love love love salmon and now you have me craving it! I need to get more strength training back into my life. I make a point to do about 10 minutes of abs and light weights in about 4-5 days a week but I think I need to up my weights and reps! Gotta shake some things up.

  4. I would love to to add yoga into my daily routine. I subscribe to a yoga magazine and I think about yoga alot but I only do a yoga routine about once every few months. How funny is that? There just isn’t enough time in the day.

  5. That salad looks so good. Love big salads!

Sounds like you’re on a roll with the fitness!

I love those mugs with the letters on them, so many people seem to have them! I want a “J” one so badly!

  6. I’ve never combined salmon with hummus, but that looks like an awesome combo!
I feel the desire to challenge myself more in my exercise routine, maybe it’s time to switch it up. I think I’ll post about this tomorrow because it’s something I haven’t yet talked about on my blog. Thanks for the inspiration with your yoga and running!

  7. I’m with you on the yoga front. I’ve been sporadic with yoga (maybe once a week). After I went to an actual class on Sunday for the first time in months, I realized it was missing from my life too.

  8. I LOVE That I have inspired you with the yoga! Amen and I feel happy when I read things like that :)

Your Kiehl’s stash. OMG I used to be (pre kid when i had extra $ to burn) a huge!!! kiehl’s girl. Huge. I love their stuff, it’s just the best. I hope you enjoy that stash as i know you will :)

  9. Your salmon salad looks perfect! :D

I would love to reintroduce more yoga into my routine. I go back and forth between strength training and yoga, but really I love combining the two together in one session. Gotta get on that! :D

  10. That’s a very pretty salad!

I don’t have enough of a routine or a practice yet to have had anything go missing from it. Still adding!

  11. I love salmon and yoga. You just wrote about my two favorite things!

I will forget about yoga for a few days and focus on cardio and then suddenly I’ll do some yoga and wonder why I forgot about it! Yogadownload.com is my favorite! Their 35-45 minute classes are the perfect amount of time.

  12. For sure. I am really missing my yoga practice and regular exercise. I am in some sort of rut and can really tell I need both. I think the snow here has really gotten me down. I’m hoping to be feeling on the up and up soon. But man, 5 am comes early.

  13. I LOVE fish. And the sunflower seed topped hummus looks like a perfect addition. I have also been loving sunflower seeds in everything lately. They are nutty and buttery and oh so good!!

  14. oh that salmon and salad looks delicious!!!!!!
I am missing biek riding – I have just been lacking the time :(

  15. OMG everyone has those letter cups! I have one too but havent used it yet! i think tomorrow morning I may need to break it out!! I would love to do more yoga!! I just dont do it enough and I know its so golod for your body esp bc I do lots of weight liftting and running!

  16. I live in the midwest and it’s frigidly cold here right now and snow is covering most of the ground (including sidewalks) and I MISS running outside. Hell – I MISS RUNNING!!! I’ve been working out in my living room most mornings with a few little breaks here and there, but I just don’t get the same satisfaction as I do when I’m outside, pounding the pavement, sweating and panting trying to catch my breath. I wish winter was over…
