Happy Day

Happy Friday!

I finally managed to pull myself out of bed this morning and go for a run.  Up until today I have been dragging and very unmotivated.  I am so glad I went!  It was a beautiful morning and Pepsi enjoyed it too.

Plus I love my shoes!

I have been super hungry this week as well so instead of having my normal shake I decided the only way to conquer the hungry monster was to have a nice big bowl of oatmeal.  I topped this baby with a fiber cake!  Yum!

At work I had a snack at about 10 am.  It was a rice cake with almond butter and organic jelly.  Not pretty-but good.

Lunch time was filled with leftovers and sugar snap peas.

The leftovers were from this lovely pasta dish:

My afternoon snack were these almonds:

I think I finally conquered the hungry monster today!

Now we are off to meet the Metal Mountain Cycling team for dinner.  Bill has his first race of the season tomorrow!

Hope you have a great night!

6 Tips

I read on http://www.msn.com/yesterday, Dr. Oz’s 6 tips for weight loss.

I thought I would share them with you and see what you think.

Here are his tips:
  • Automate the process-meaning have the same breakfast and lunch everyday (I assume snacks too) and only change-up your dinner routine.  Pretty good idea if you ask me.  I think most of us do that who are health conscious.  We tend to stick to foods that work for us.
  • Stop beating yourself up-don’t stress if you eat too much or something you should not have. Just get back on the wagon again.  I tend to agree with this too.  Worrying about the “crap” you just ate is not going to help you in the long run.  Life is too short.  If you mess up-keep moving forward!
  • Eat frequently and regularly-I think this is very important.  I always feel like I eat way more often than people who are heavier or “unhealthyer” than me.  Why is that?
  • Have a contingency plan-meaning bring food when in doubt.  I think we have mentioned this already throughout the blog world and I know I mentioned it last Friday in this post and a few weeks ago in this post.
  • Eat to stay full not count calories or reach a specific calorie count per day.  Now this I really I agree with!  I am proud to say I am a forty-year old (well almost!) woman who has NEVER counted calories.  I swear!  I truly go off of how I feel and I keep weight off.  Nuff said……
  •  Watch what you watch-apparently if you watch a sad movie you tend to eat more than when you watch a comedy.  Weird? I can see how watching tv can make it harder to eat well with all the commercials for “bad” food every 15 minutes or so but watching sad movies?  Interesting…….

Overall, I really like his tips.  I think they are common sense and they are things we can all blend into our current lives easily.

What do you think?
