Today started out nice and early.
That is the beautiful sun rise over the Santa Ynez Mountains.
I was headed to a bike race with my husband and friend. Here are their bikes:
My husband loves to bike race. He races mountain bikes and road bikes and has also been known to do some cycle cross events as well. We are very lucky and have met some very wonderful people because of bike riding and bike racing.
Here is Sara-very sweet and very strong!
Here is Khrystle:
And let’s not forget Trevor, the man behind the team!
When I go to these events, I am especially motivated by everyone’s excitement and determination. I look up to people who can put so much into one sport. Not everyone can just go out and race. It takes a lot of training, good diet, and perseverance to do well. And even then, a little luck goes a long way!
At this point in my life, racing is not for me but I am motivated to be a better runner and be a better cyclist because of their excitement and encouragement. I know tomorrow morning when I run, I will be thinking of my husband and how he raced today:
And how much he pushed himself. It will make me a better runner tomorrow!
What about you , who motivates you to push a little harder or run a little longer?
I leave you with a few parting shots. It was a great day!
Silly Sadie:
Beautiful scenery:
When in the wine country……pick up some good, organic Syrah!
Delicious!

These are great pics!! I love that you are so outdoorsy
XXOO
Those are some beautiful pictures!! What a great way to spend the day!!
what a beautiful area! and yes I would be totally motivated by an event like this. I think for me, the blog world and all that some of you ladies do motivates me the most!
glad you got a run in. I did too! and tomorrow another one (better!)
I am most motivated by a co-worker who does amazing things like hike in Alaska and in the Alps. I don’t have the time, money or ambition for that but she has inspired me to hike whenever I can – just closer to home.
By the way I love the new theme.
That looks wonderful! I am looking to get into road biking. I would like to do Duathlons. Any words of wisdom for buying a middle of the road type of bike? And the vino at the end of a ride doesn’t hurt either
I wish you lived nearby and you could go to my local bike shop! I would recomend a mid range Giant bicycle. Giant usually gives you more bang for your buck!
